Show Bombing Stats in Player Statcard

Hello folks,

First, a brief presentation: When I started to play War Thunder back in 2014-15, the amount of aircrafts was a fraction of that we have now and the top tier was made of: F-86, MiG-15 and Me-163, other times and back them Bombers use to play a important role in the matches, since they can provide enough effort to win a battle without dog-fighting, just by accomplishing the objectives.

After a certain time, I stopped the game, since I have more duties like University, Work and Family. Now, in 2024 I have some free time and decided to play again, unfortunately I lost my original account and made a new one about 4 months ago and find myself in a brand new game, when the dawn of the early jets was ended, the F-15’s are the thing in the game and the bombers are completely forgotten, only used sometimes to carry nukes in Ground Battles, to Grind a Tech Tree being a Free to Play or for those few who really enjoy the role of a Bomber Pilot.

With that in mind I started to think: what can be made to make bombers useful again?

So, I have elaborated a few suggestions that might help change the actual scenario and make people play Bombers more often. So there is my first one:

Give the bomber players their recognition

All players in the game are here to have fun (I guess), but we also enjoy our own personal records, to show how good we are on a specific vehicle, that’s a big deal in a multiplayer game, so if you perform well with your lovely F-16C, you can display your K/D in you Personal Record, showing that you have that incredible score.

But what about bombers?

In the Record there is only number for Deaths, Air, Ground and Naval Targets Destroyed, but what about Bases Destroyed or even Tons of Bombs Dropped? This at the beginning can sound useless, but if you play a Bomber, you want to display your efficiency with the vehicle and in the currently state of the game, a bomber player record looks terrible since they die quite often, don’t get that much of air target destruction.

So, I made this quick mock-up showing how the Personal Record could be, displaying bomber objetives too (I just made the numbers for the Mirage F1C-200 as an example, but you can get the point)

With this first step, players became more willing to play with Bombers because now they can display how useful they are on a match.

Do you agree with this little update on the Service Record? I will bring more suggestion in the near future,

That’s all for now,

See ya!

I voted yes - but not regarding the “usefulness” of bombers - i just want to see how many players waste multi-role Mach 2 jet fighters with base bombing.

From a holistic pov adding these columns make just sense for prop bombers / strike aircraft as jets like F-4Es carry a massive bomb load with a high probability to drop, whilst props bombers have severe issues to get even near a base.

So adding these values make no sense above rank V.

Imho the only stats relevant for “real” (=prop) bombers should be the number of airfield kills and the number of assists as they often face the most dangerous opponents for their team (=fighters with airspawn like XP-50 & co…) as they manage often enough to cripple a fighter but those kills get robbed by own fighters catching up.

Even if the number of af kills is limited to low tiers, the number of base kills has a very low ticket impact if they face respawning bases; killing a base was never a challenge, killing the enemy airfield is the ultimate goal for bombers…

i want to see this so that Kfir canard and mirage base stealers can be outed

While not entirely on-thread, splitting the A.I kills and Player kills would also be a swell addition. At least for ground targets.

Strafing unreactive howitzers and AAA in ARB is very different to actually bombing players. Right now, it conflates both.

(Could also be solved by separate tabs for ARB, ASB, GRB, GSB)
