I simply believe the A6 had ESM irl and I noticed it doesn’t have it in game if anyone has a document or smth that could be use to make a bug report it would be great
We do not have ECM, as a mechanic/feature, to begin with.
I’m sure it might receive the ECM whenever we actually get ECM implemented
I got confused I meant ESM, apologies my bad. Though my point still stands I still believe the A-6 has acces to ESM and it does not in game
No I was correct I never said ECM- Some plane have acces to dedicated ESM that allows you to lock and pin point SPAAs like the SU30s
Does he not mean the seaech radar for radar emiting targets
I dont think it ever had, as it doesnt have a radar
So funny enough it has a radar that does nothing in game. So since it has one I’m pretty confident since it was also used for SEAD irl it should have a working ESM.
It has a optional detection, so i think thats the radar for. Would like to see somebody a specalits in avinics, i cant help anymore
Probably only the EA-6 had such an ability, the standard A-6 was dedicated ground attack with minimal sead ability
This was reported a few years ago, but I don’t think it was accepted—or maybe it was, but they still haven’t fixed it to this day.
As far as I remember, the radar has an MTI mode (referred to in the manual as Airborne Moving Target Indicator). The radar itself is either the AN/APQ-148 version or the newer AN/APQ-156.
The issue is classified documentation. I haven’t come across a declassified document yet that can be used in a report without any problems.
You’ll need provable facts, not belief… = /
Not to sound mean but that’s the exact reason why I made this topic so people could maybe help me find said facts
Since you know more than me about how bug reports and suggestions work, I’d like your input on something.
From what I’m seeing, the current A-6E TRAM in-game is fitted with the AN/ALR-67(V)2, which is actually the RWR belonging to the A-6E SWIP upgrade, rather than the original TRAM (which used the AN/ALR-45/50 per NAVAIR 01-85ADA-1 / NAVAIR 01-85ADF-1).
In War Thunder’s mechanics, the only real differences between the TRAM and the SWIP are the RWR and the resulting weapon capabilities (such as HARMs and Mavericks). Since the in-game A-6E already carries the SWIP’s RWR suite, realistically, could this aircraft be reclassified/renamed as an A-6E SWIP and receive its expanded weaponry, or would that require a separate suggestion to be adedd as a different aircraft?
Well from past eperiences I’d expect that a separate suggestion for a separate aircraft would be needed, but I’m pretty sure various additional Intruder variants were already suggested.
I didn’t found anything about ESM in the TRAM/SWIP manual I have. There is only ECM mentioned.
