Shouldn't aircrafts also deserves AIM-9X since some SPAAs already have them in game?

As much as i hate to admit it, but that is so true. While 9X would be better then ASRAAM at dogfighting range, it would be absolutely clowned on buy ASRAAM at longer ranges. Not to mention other IIR missile like IRIS-T (which also have TVC like 9X) will alwo outperfom 9X at closer range. US finally get a jet with good FM will still struggle against the already existing jets thanks to its missile. (Really hope AIM 260 enters service this year)

idk on this

at least if its 9x bk2

because ASRAAM does have a long range, but it doesnt get data link updates it flies purely on IOG until it gets an IR lock, so if its launched at long range and the target turns much at all (like people constantly do in game) then it will just miss

They can add 9x with a heavily nerfed seekerhead.
Same with all the next gen ir missiles as well.
Just add all next gen ir missiles with stinger type irccm

It will be interesting to see if the aim9X will have an edge over the ASRAAM at closer ranges or if it will just outright be worse than the ASRAAM.

Kind of a shame that America didn’t follow through with the Aim132 project. The reasons for keeping the aim9 are kind of weird ngl.

It was stated by Smin (or another CM, I don’t remember), that next gen IR missiles would come to every nation at the same time.
And the Aim9x would be among the worse missiles of all them new missiles

The 9X will be much better at close range. The current ASRAAM/CAMM implementation doesn’t make it better than the Aim9M in early turn radius. Sources and reports do make it better than the 9M, but there’s more data on how much better than the 9M the 9X is

Sure, MICA IR on Rafale then? And ASRAAM and IRIS-T on EFT and Gripen?

Estimated lock range is 25km + and it flies at Mach 5, if the target is 50km away, then it will take 14 seconds for the missile to get a lock, and that is just assuming the target is hovering and not also flying towards the launch aircraft and that is the only time you would actually fire at 50km.

TLDR, it’s not an issue

Have official source for that? (IIRC you told me something before about this, Flame found out something, It was something like that But gaijin will most likely go with publicly accepted figure which is mach 3+)

Flame has Primary docs regarding aerodynamic heating temps of the ASRAAM and subsequent research papers that show that the only way such temps are possible is if the missile is going more like Mach 5+

MBDA has a long history of publicly underselling stats.

We’ll have to see what Gaijin does but Gunjob is confident I beleive

I still believe that, initially ASRAAM would be added with mach-3 top speed. When the bug report is made, gaijin will accept it and then just forget about it.

Probably, but that does also mean Aim-9X will just initially be an Aim-9M that can pull a little more :D

They did it because it was cheaper.

Yes. I am pretty sure that is how 9X acts in game currently (Sometimes it has its own mind and ends up pulling even more and then starts to spin. It used to happen with Claws but i have not seen it doing that again in NASAMS). Making a bug report about it would also be impossible since there is currently no unclassified document which state about its G pull D:

Doesnt only the CLAWS have only the AIM9X? What other SPAA have AIM9X?

NASAMS also has 9X

and other spaa?

Only those two

look at the in game lock range for IR systems, and tell me that it will be implemented like that

Which that logic, lets add IRIS-T on F-4F ICE, it wouldn’t be OP as the F-4F ICE is just a Phantom with some benefits
