Shouldn't aircrafts also deserves AIM-9X since some SPAAs already have them in game?

In War Thunder, adding the AIM-9X would be a good improvement because it is a modern air-to-air missile that is already used by real aircraft like the F/A-18E Super Hornet. It would make top-tier jets feel more accurate to their real-life counterparts and improve the variety of weapons available in high-tier dogfights. The AIM-9X is known for its advanced tracking and agility, which would make close-range combat more interesting and reflect modern air combat capabilities more closely.

IMO the AIM9X blk 1 wouldn’t be to broken since they wouldn’t have camera tracking, it would be just like a AIM-9M that can turn.

I agree

The AH-1Z should get its AIM-9X, LDIRCM, and JAGM while moving to 13.0 to give the US a unique helicopter at top tier now that all of the features of AH-64E have been copied to other tech trees despite not being compatible with the airframes operated by those countries

other than that though adding AIM-9X to any other aircraft would cause balancing issues at the current time

9M can turn tho

  1. next gen IR missiles wont come in vacuum, ie. just like with ARHs they will come to all nations at once
  2. im willing to bet you struggle flaring current IRCCM missiles so i dont understand why would you want to make the game harder for you

i mean the F/14 came before any other nation had anything close to it. trust me if you played at that BR back in the day the F-14 would touch you like diddy while you are covered in baby oil. gosh this brought back memories. actually the F-14 is a perfect example why adding something next gen to only one nation without any counter what so ever is like the worst idea ever. i know they did it bc Top gun maveric was released at that time but the power vacuum it created was literally hell. Tsar bomba vs sick coughing baby type deal.

aim 9x wont be op at all just think about r77

not if all nations get smt like aim9x

I was thinking that an A-10C Late suggestion could have the AIM-9X. I say this because I recently obtained evidence of the A-10C being able to use SDB-2 (Stormbreaker) bombs, which would require a higher BR. It would also allow ECM to be tested in a comfortable environment, initially.

why even compare 9X and R77

Like the MiG-23MLD before it?

… what?

I don’t entirely disagree, the meta isn’t heavily swayed by IR missiles but AIM-9X is a notable step up from everything else at the moment.

ASRAAM dumpsters AIM-9X. One of the problems with 9X and WT; it’s in the next gen of IR missiles and all of it’s contemporaries outperform it.

US really cannot catch a break.

Wdym lol, the game will become objectively worse for anyone who struggles with current IRCCM IRs.

And 9X wont save superhornet.

It will still be slower than eurofighter

Aim-9x Blk 1 and Blk 2 have the same seeker. The Blk 2 does have updated algorithms and such, but given all IIR in game is the same, even dual band ones like the python-5, which should be substantially better then the 9X’s IRCCM, theres no chance of that meaning anything as of current implementation methods.

Anyways, as always whenever the 9X gets brought up, as Smin has said, and should be readily apparent anyways, 5th gens IRs are all being introduced at once. So the 9X won’t “save the US” because there will still be better alternatives in other nations.
