Should they change the reload time of the M1128 Stryker?

Well, before I start, I want to clarify that since I didn’t have any response from the community of my language, I decided to literally translate everything I said into English and cover new people, so forgive me in advance if something is not understood because I am using a translator for this.

Before giving an answer to that question, I wanted to open this space more than anything to see your opinions and see what you think since when using the m1128 Stryker I realized that the biggest cause of deaths that I get when using it is the 7.5s reload time, since it is one of the slowest in the BR I think, since it is not enough to be on “equal” conditions in a duel, for example, and when it came to reporting or complaining about this problem I received the same answer, a link that takes me to a similar complaint from another user from 3 years ago, not to mention that there were many complaints about this problem, a time when the game was different of course, but now it is not like before due to the evolution of the game and even more so with the arrival of the bmpt which is very common to find in that area. I put them in scene: you and an enemy see each other, let’s use as an example a Russian tank, a T72B for example that is almost in the same BR and its reload time is 7s. They both fire at the same time and neither dies, but with the fully functional weapon fully exposed (and when using both autoloaders, reloading remains the same). If that happens, the winner is obvious, the T72 due to its reload time, even if you know where its weak point is, the problem also comes into the survival of the vehicle, I need to look for a weak point and he doesn’t, that is, he has a better chance of killing me with the first shot due to the little armor that the vehicle uses, but I have no way to counteract that due to the reload time. This situation happened to me several times and in similar ways, but, even if the enemy does not use an autoloader and loses the crew in charge of this, that is, he is left with only 2 crew members and if the reloading time increases, I still cannot cope with it because it takes too long to reload. Another thing, even if I destroyed the enemy’s autoloader (if we continue talking about the duel with the t72) he would still have a projectile in the chamber, and if both it and the barrel are not damaged, the enemy can shoot without problem. So here’s my question: for you, should you change your recharge time? It should be noted that the reload time of the M1128 Stryker in real life is 6s according to sources (a normal reload time for the br and the nation of the United States, I believe) but when they told me that it was done this way because of “swaying” when I reported it, it occurred to me that they could at least lower it to 6.5s like that of the Abrams with stock crew, I want to back this up just a little with the scores of the vehicle’s characteristics on the game’s wiki website, where players can give their opinion in the form of a score of the vehicle and its characteristics (armor, mobility, weapons, etc.) there, none of its characteristics are in green, not even mobility for what would be normal in a light vehicle, everything is in yellow except for the armor that has a lower score, which is normal, otherwise it happens with the bmpt where almost all its characteristics are in green (if you do not agree with what was previously said on the wiki, I will respect it perfectly). As I said before, I am based on experience and the real technical numbers of the vehicle, but I still invite you, if you can, to experiment with this vehicle several games now, to have a fresher and clearer opinion. As I said, I’m just looking to read your opinions and see what criteria you have, of course, I don’t expect a response from the devs since they will have their own argument as to why they keep it that way, thank you in advance and I will be reading them. I wish you a good hunt. (PS: I hope I have made good use of this section, it is the first time I write in a forum)

Hello block of text, add spacing to yourself

Based on the title alone I say yes. Though this would likely result in the m1128 bumping to 10.7 - which I bring it to top tier and it works fine.

if they can buff the T-80, then yeah they can do it to the stryker too. no BR changes, unless they also increase the BR of all T-80s

I don’t disagree with you, but you know gaijin.

That said, if they fixed the armor too I’d love seeing it bump up a bit for better lion/rp modifiers.

Seriously dose nobody know what a paragraph is these days?

Well, I don’t really think it’s bad, I think it would be fair

Actually, it’s my fault. The original text did have spaces between paragraphs, but when I translated it, I didn’t realize this and translated it completely, and this is how it ended up. I don’t even know if a text like this is valid or well-written.

It’s all good mate, I saw it was an AI translated post and I get there is issues with that.
Please don’t take my moment as an insult or anything, I have seen a lot of native English speakers typing similar text walls, so it was more a joke over how often it happens, not at you personally.
But I admit I probably should have mean more mindful of the fact it was a translated post.

Thank you for your understanding, as I didn’t want to start an argument. The first response I received was about the block of text, but I didn’t understand it. Seeing yours and putting the pieces together, I wanted to clarify that the text I originally wrote did have more spaces, and this was my mistake in translating it lazily, haha.

Well, I don’t think it’s a bad idea; I think it would be the fairest thing to do given their high firepower and combined mobility.

I’ll try to be as informative as I can.
I’ll preface by stating I, as of now, do not own the M1128 stryker. SO I haven’t actually played with the thing.
For the 6 second reload argument: There has been conflicting sources on the real firerate of the Stryker. Gaijin stated they purposefully chose to stick with the 7.5 second reload, probably as a balance factor (partially).
What you have to remember is what you get in exchange for this 7.5 second reload.

M1128 sits at 10.3. Clean thermals, (gen 2+), M900 (522mm flat pen), unmanned turret, good mobility, as expected from a wheeled chassis.

It gets, by a long shot, the second best 10.3 shell in the game all nations included. There’s, As I know, only the 120S that gets a better one, at 600mm pen. It also has a better shell than almost any 10.7 tank.

HP/ton ratio is 18.7.

The closest vehicle to the M1128 in another nation is actually the Centauro RGO and Centauro I 120.
Both of which have a 5 second reload aced, a 588mm pen round (120mm so better spalling), similar HP/ton, worse thermals, no unmanned turret. It does get a LWS as a bonus, and a 1° better depression, countered by the wolfpack suspension. and these are 11.7.

the closest at a lower br would be the Type 16. 6.7 aced reload, same thermals, LWS, slightly better mobility (22 hp/ton), however falls very flat in the department of firepower (405mm pen). At 9.7.

For the firepower it offers, wolfpack is actually closer to a 11.0-11.3 vehicle.
The booker M10 is the closest thing to a fast loading wolfpack you can see, and it’s already 10.7 with no unmanned turret.

If the Wolfpack was to get a 6, or even 6.5 second reload, it would go up immediately. Just look at the T-64BV. Went from 9.7 to straight 10.3 because of a .5 second reload buff.

Gaijin probably wants to keep it as is, as it pairs nicely with the 10.3 premium A-10.

For your personal experience, while i do not want to scream skill issue, you have the best shell at the BR. Use it. M900 can destroy armor easily, so oneshots are not hard to achieve. You have speed, gen 2+ thermals at a br where they are quite rare (outside of light tanks of course), a decent reload (7.5 isn’t the end of the world). If you find yourself losing fights because of the reload, maybe you don’t think enough about where to hit ennemies properly. I played the T-72A and ZTZ96 quite a bit, almost everyone reloads faster than you at 9.3. Not to mention other T-series with the 7.0 reload at higher tiers. You have to go for a oneshot kill. in the case of the T-72 as you mentionned, they have about 20° turret traverse per second. Use it at your advantage and drive around, don’t stand still waiting for the reload. You also don’t have to finish them instantly. Retreating to a better spot and waiting for a better shot is not bad gameplay.

M1128 has insane strenghts for the br. That come at the cost of a slower reload rate. Rely on it’s strenghts, and always account for the reload. Having poor armor is part of the light tank gameplay, and you already get the benefit of the turret taking 0 damage.

Hope this isn’t too long, and that it helps, have a nice day.

I bring it to 12.0 it performs better than some 12.0 tanks

I agree with everything you said besides for ‘good mobility’. It only has 350 hp and weighs 18.7t (without slat armour), giving it a hp/t of 18.7*, which is below average for wheeled vehicles, and a reverse speed of only 12.5km/h (which is very below average):

*Gearing does contribute to how well vehicles accelerate too but it’s hard to quantify without direct vehicle testing.

That being said, the suspension bug allows it to accelerate almost as well as the Radkampfwagen (funnily enough), but at the sacrifice of braking distance.
It also improves its gun depression (but only for its front / rear), which is definitely helpful considering its below-average -5 degrees.

The M60 AMBT gets KE-W (583mm of pen), and Sabra Mk.1 gets M332 (588mm of pen) at 10.0, but you are right that it’s the second best if we exclusively talk about only 10.3 vehicles, and that M900 is a very good round even for 10.7.

The Centauros do have much better armour against autocannons and reverse speed to be fair.

I think the Centauro I 120s should be 11.3 and have the Stryker (with a 6s reload) be 10.7.

I’d say a closer one would be the 10.0 Vextra 105, with a 6.7s reload, better mobility, and 445mm of penetration.

The round is indeed of a 11.0 - 11.3 caliber, but the reload moves it down to 10.3 - 10.7.
With a 6s reload, it would definitely be 11.0 - 11.3.

To be fair, the M10 Booker should be 11.0 / 11.3 (especially considering the VT5 is all the way up at 11.7 for some reason).

For sure.

Even before the reload buff, the T-64BV was really strong for 9.7 (very good round, average reload, very good armour… but poor mobility and gun depression).

The 6s reload (not a 0.5s reload buff, but a 1.1s reload buff) made it way too good for 9.7, and possibly 10.0, so I wasn’t really surprised. After all, it’s arguably better than the T-72B, and definitely better than the T-72AV TURMST.

The Stryker with the recent gun depression buff (and accidental mobility buff), it’s pretty decent at 10.3 but definitely not overpowered.
A 6s reload (1.5s reload buff) would make it too good for 10.3 (for sure), so I’d say 10.7 would be fine.

Yeah, probably.

In a downtier, it’s extremely powerful, but you still need to aim for weakspots (like the LFP, side armour, turret breech, etc) against 10.3s like the T-72B (1989), T-72B, and 10.7s / 11.0s like the T-80UD, T-90A, Object 292, etc…
It definitely one-shots in most cases, though.

From my experience, it’s usually not where you shoot enemies that’s the problem, but rather that there’s often more than just one tank around your vicinity. The 12.5km/h reverse speed doesn’t help with that problem either (especially considering it’s a wheeled vehicle).

Yes, insane strengths but insane drawbacks.

The drawbacks mainly are: poor reverse speed, poor gun depression (though it can be countered with the controlled suspension), and poor-mid reload speed

The M1128 is one of my favorite vehicles, and I play it very often. I do find it’s acceleration, and reverse speed to be poor, but the top speed is really good. I wouldn’t say it’s acceleration is poor, but more like “modest”

Yes, though the controlled suspension can only help partially and doesn’t completely solve the problem.
The reload is poor (7.5s is the worst reload at 10.3) Even Russian MBTs outreload it 😅
Though it may outreload level 1 basic crew NATO vehicles like the Leopard 2K, and M60 AMBT.

👍

Well, for wheeled vehicles it’s pretty poor - mediocre (unless you use the suspension bug), though it’s not too bad compared to MBTs and tracked lights.

It’s long overdue for reload buff, we’ll see it in 5 years, maybe

What exactly is the suspension bug? I never heard of it
