Maybe it has to do with general plane durability being comically low
The “Fortress” part sometimes seems like just decoration. It takes a shot at a simple part and suddenly it starts to fall apart on its own in mid-air.

Also I guarantee I could intercept a Tu-95 with A2D-1, it’d be slow but doable, which is primarily 7.0 because of its ground attack capability. 2 bases of bombs, + 20mms makes for short work of enemy tickets.

Maus is currently perfectly balanced and is one of the stronger 7.7s in the game.
Neither of these bombers would be OP 0.3 lower.
No is is suggesting moving down B-52 to 7.7 either.
La-200, MB-326K, Me-262 C-2b, Meteors at minimum can intercept.
F-84Gs might, I haven’t flown them at 12,000 meters yet.
Same with the barrels & French.
at 40k feet it would be a struggle to intercept in a 7.7 as the B52 is very fast at hight alts and has 8 engines with mega giga wing span so its very good at being untouchble and anyone who gets close has to head on you or side on its tail guns also very deadly
C2B and LA 200 are probably the only ones that can do it
for a TU95 i think a 262 would sturggle hard most 7.3s would cook there engines trying to get up there 262 maxes out like 40 k feet max you could probably sit at 45k comfortably in a TU-95
B-52’s top speed is still ~0.85.
MB-326K gets to 14,000 meters rather quickly.
Meteors will make their way to 15,000.
7.3s are stronger than you give credit for as well.
Su-11, more Meteors, another rocket assist 262, F2H-2, and probable Arado.
Rocket assist 262s will happily reach 16,000 meters.
the B52 gets to .85 mach very easily high up due to 8 engines a meteor at same altitude will take much longer and due to extreme alts it wont reach max speed either due to reduced air density and O2 levels
the only thing at 7.7 that catches them well is maybe the LA200 and probably the ME262 but only if it has the rocket boost still but that wastes literally a entire tank basically so he have to RTB immediately instead of using it to its potential
