4 MLs take half a base in test flight, so you’re looking at 7-8. From my estimation, the extra 30-40kg tnt equivalent of grom 1 would not increase it enough to be a problem, it would just free up a pylon. It takes 3 grom 2s to destroy a base.
So it’s a sim implementation issue. Though these platforms should comfortably intercept it well before it gets within launch range.
Yeah, there was a reason they were removed. and this is Gaijin and the soviets we are talking about. In the same update they broke any semblence of CAS balance for an entire year, they removed the Grom-1s
Grom 1s should be added back, with associated long range maps and the removal of sub 150km from toptier. There we go.
Alternatively; lock them from sim until they bother to fix it. In a similar sense to ground limiting munitions like brimstone, I don’t want alternative modes to restrict the implementation of interesting weapons.
Hence my second suggestion. I’ve a fondness for air to ground, and hindering the addition of new and interesting weapons just because one mode can’t cope is pretty rubbish. Especially if we want to see the addition of western equivalents.
Kh36 (grom) exists, has been utilised, and is presently fielded. As has kh38, which kh36 is a subspecies of. The only thing in doubt for the 38 family is the modular IR seeker component, for which there appears to be information surfacing to suggest the seeker was developed/fabricated but not fielded.
MMW brimstone has been limited on account of ground battles. So this position of not locking weapons out of certain modes is hurting the game again.
