Yes but even the Aim-9X missile witch is backward compatible with the F-14 in a reduced capacity but we don’t know if any aim9x went on a f14 model nor if it tested yes I know technically it is capable of using them (because of Raytheon saying it was capable on paper) but unlike the aim120 which the f14 did test successfully them I know your point is on paper it was capable but even the aim9x and those jdams didn’t test them on f14 or even fitted on them unlike the aim120 witch did successfully test them meaning we have evidence that it did go on f14s and future documents that say aim120s are capable on f14 making it more solid evidence

You are trying to argue something that I didn’t state. Please check again and see the point I was trying to make. That it COULD per documentation. If it uses JDAM then it can use JDAM modification packages. Government documents say it could use the aim-9x.
Not to mention they probably needed to do extensive drop testing for any new munition like the JDAM-ER to ensure safe release, proper aerodynamics no fluttering/spinning
Yes but for it to be added in game it needs to be at least tested and fitted on the vehicle we don’t have testing evidence or even pictures of it carrying them just official documentation proving technically it could unlike the aim120 or even potentially the agile 95A

It is just a game not everything has to realistic like that. I mean they should stay as realistic as possible so long as the vehicle/weapons was successfully tested I’m fine with it unlike stuff like tiger 105 etc…

so sorry for not being clear enough the F14s AWG-9 was probably one of the earliest planes to feature a data link missile similar to mig 23 but on FOX-3 missile like aim54 but theres a big but a specfic station (stations being like a outlet in wall that a missile connects too) its a radar thing basically the AIM-7P cant link to the AIM54 stations in the radar it be better if you asked and the aim-7M doesnt have proper equipment in it to Data link
