If the f14D does come with AMRAAMs it should be placed in 13.3 since the fm doesn’t improve and it fm is as good as other 13.3 planes but not the ones in 13.7 and having 2 irccm missiles or having 8 missiles shouldn’t mean it needs to be 13.7 like some of the other 13.3

If it can carry more than 6 - it can’t be 13.3, this is the rules set by gaijin, judging how they placed Su-30MKs at 13.3 without double pylons. Everything with more than 6 Fox-3 missiles goes to 13.7 and above.
I think the modifcation tree for the F-14D if it were Tech Tree would be something like this and these armaments would be available:

Although the 2 x AIM-120 (DRA/DALA) racks are questionable, everything else would be more or less correct imo

It can be 13.3 with the su30mkk/mk2 has 6 arh plus 4 irccm and f14D only carries 6 arh missile and 2 irrcm missiles
ARH are more valuable than IRCCM missiles, especially gatewidth ones

8 fox 3 is only if gajin gives it the dual amraam racks without those it’s 6x fox3 and 2x fox2
I am torn on this issue. On one hand, I want to see the F-14D as the only tech-tree US jet equipped with the AIM-7P and its fully functional datalink capability as its top radar-guided missile (I am ignoring the AIM-54C, yes). The only aircraft in the US tree that has the AIM-7P as a top SARH missile is the F/A-18C Early at 12.7, and that’s premium, sadly.
On the other hand, I want to see the F-14D receive AIM-120As so that it does not end up sharing the same BR and overall weapon suite as the F-14B, aside from slightly more advanced avionics and true AIM-7P. I want the F-14D to feel meaningfully distinct from the F-14B.
However, the fact that it was leaked and appears to be marketed as a premium aircraft makes me think it could end up being something like a premium F-14B at 13.0, but with different avionics and access to the true AIM-7P.

Personally if it does come out as a premium hopefully we can get a tech tree version too with one f14 with aim120 at 13.3 and the other with out aim120 at 13.0 if not hopefully it comes with aim120 at 13.3 I don’t want to deal with aim7’s anymore especially when it comes to jousting r27er,pl12,r77,aim120 at 13.0+ especially since the F-14 dosent have hmd to re lock on to a target it can led to your death to try and re lock

So, honestly, if they want to add in the specific test plane, okay I guess - problem on that one is not knowing what other changes and all may have been made that it wouldn’t work in game.
Truthfully though - we should have 2 versions of the F-14D in game.
One is the historical version, that is basically a F-14B Upgrade (which is what we have in game already) with a different radar, debatable on ‘better’ depending on game mode, and a glass cockpit.
The other - that 100% belongs in the tech tree - is the line where instead of the funds for the AMRAAM software patch going to LANTIRN they actually put in the AMRAAM patch, even if that means it goes back to basically just an air to air fighter. And the F-15C Golden Eagle is the precedent both in terms of adding it at all - because that was a proposed upgrade that was passed over due to costs - and as to where it goes, being that it is in the tech tree proper.
Either way, F-14’s in Arcade that aren’t the Iranian one are as is getting smoked, the 14B at 12.7 is premium Su-30 food and with this thing apparently being 12.7 as well in arcade, it’s 80 bucks to be food for Su-30’s that have way better missiles. Even if they got the much needed drop in BR they need in Arcade, at 12.3 it’d still have to deal with the Su-30 and MiG-29N, and be debatable if it’s worth the money considering AIM-54’s are just bad, and while sure it’ll have 2 more 7M’s than a Hornet the planes actual performance will hold it back.

Yes, it could use them in real life, thus they should have them in game to make them compeditive above 13.0

@ShermyDragon some of the things he posted where half true the decode part is in the NAVAIR 01-F14AAD-1 the aim120 is in it and like I keep mentioning the f14A-65gr is a testing aircraft for the f14 in general f14A-65-gr tested AMRAAMs for f14D because at the time of testing not even the f14B was available plus not to mention the fact the f14D went from analog to digital is also a major reason why the f14D was supposed to get aim120 and not the other f14A/B and also the mil std 1553b is capable of supporting aim120 and I pretty sure the f14D did use mil std 1760
