F-14D would be the only one capable of fully utilizing AIM-7P
That’s why I said or the aim7mh and supposedly late variants of the f14B are capable of using aim7p
yeah but they cant use the data link feature so there effectively the same as the M which is why it should get the AIM-7MH

the one ingame cant according to gaijin its missing a guidance station 21 for the AIM-7P unless it had the D models updated radar it cant and we cant get it cause its the wrong block
I mean the F-14s were one of the first to have had a sort of multi plane DL where other air craft would detect the targets and show up on your radar right?
And the only one able to “fire” an aim9x but can’t use all of the features, idk what that entails. But it’s in some gov docs.
Trust me you don’t want aim9x on the f14D unless you want it too be top tier with 5 gens it would be better to give it aim9m-8 and even then that would mean 14.0 -14.7 best just to give it aim9m and aim120A

With the current uprank system in matchmaking it’s not like any of this matters. You’re going to fight things that punch down because “luck”
AIM-9X or AIM-120’s won’t change that
Yeah they would aim120 are better at jousting then aim54 and aim7p currently in game not to mention aim54 and aim7p are a thing of the past and aim120 absolutely dominate and make aircraft’s like the f18/f4/av8/tornado great in bvr or even medium range
No f14 model ever used jdams-er or Ljdam and would be a huge stretch to give them that unlike the aim120 that a f14 model did successfully tested them
All the F-14 needs is a laser designation pod

Yeah i know but the Ljdam/jdam-er didn’t enter service like what 6 years later when the f14 was already retired (2006) it was never put on a jdam that went onto a f14 model is my point plus their would be no point as the jdam the f14 has a effective range of 10+ miles in game I know because I tested in testing grounds and tried using them against when the s1 was #1
And my point was that it is capable of using it regardless of it not being put on the jet in service. Just like the AIM-120, or the AIM-9x which it’s both technically capable of using.
