Should the f14D be added?

I was talking about the F-14D Super Tomcat, however the US were considering building their own Tornadoes under licence if the F-14 were expensive to maintain.

So a What if theory.

C’mon dude most of the UK has brought American junk such as C-17s, C-130s, Chinooks, H-34s, even Commonwealth countries under British the flag like the Australian F-111C which was gonna being the replacement for the TSR’2, so why not add the Royal Tomcat in the UK tech tree as a Premium?

It may not happen but im just curious.

Sure but it has to get Meteor missiles and ASRAAMs when they come to the game

I don’t think British would receive it.The British Ministry of Defense considered the F-14, along with other US fighters like the F-15 and F-16, to replace their aging F-4 Phantoms. Although there were inquiries about purchasing F-14s (including possibly acquiring used aircraft), these did not lead to a formal testing program or acquisition.

I don’t see how it would get those missile if it never tested them or even put on them people complain about the f14A iraf having r27 or saying f14D couldn’t use araams(it could) I can already see the forums complaining also about how we don’t need another copy an paste

Yeah I ain’t using a aim54 or aim7 at a br range of 13.0+ at ranges of 2-25 miles against other fox 3 missiles even 7p has trouble going against fox3 not to mention the slow acceleration the aim54 has the araam is 100x better then aim54/aim7 in a range of 2-30 miles with 35g to pull/a lot less heavy and better acceleration also not to mention how heavy the aim54 is and how much it affects the aero dynamics of the f14 and the bvr in this game is non existent unless you side climb/or go straight up but by then people are dog fighting/ multi pathing and by the time your targeting them or the travel time of aim54 the battle will be over because your team wiped out the group of enemy or vice versa. If the aim54 had an acceleration as the fukour missiles I can see that argument about it not really needing araam other than the g limit.

(in game not irl)

F14 with spey engines and the royal navy omega livery would be sick as fuck.

Okay, but it doesn’t exist or ever tested plus I rather put something like F135 engine or f119-pw-100 , GE F110 engines with thrust vectoring(it was gonna be for the st22 tomcat), F110-GE-429 (also for the st21) but no because well people would complain in the forms that it didn’t test them or use them. Unless your on console you can probably find a user made skin of the navy omega livery

So. It doesn’t exist?

theyre broke

could’ve just bought f-15, if i recall correctly tornados were much costlier than it

Nothing is broke this is just a game where you can add at least everything that was considered.

There are still standards for addition, and just thinking about getting a plane hardly meets them

If they did add a British tomcat it would just be a piece of paper with a drawing on it

what’s next, britain gets an f-22 because they were considering it?

No it had to be made/successfully tested. even a prototype to be made but even that one would be a hard maybe that’s why they removing stuff like tiger 2 105 and ho ri and others alike. but I do agree that just because in real life something couldn’t be afforded it shouldn’t affect it in game because it’s a game for example the f14D with the araam 120 it is capable of using them and it successfully tested them but navy couldn’t afford the lantirn package and the araam package so only went with the one that could make the f14 serve a longer time in the navy

Is that what you say to the German and Japanese F-14D?
