I don’t think I’ve seen anyone saying Mech should be as good as AESA, but if they have you’re right they’re coping.
However my experience with CaptorM in game is that it takes ages to lock, if it even finds the target, loses lock easily and tracks ghosts.
I had a way better an easy time with the Gripen Radar before it.
Have you used the Eurofighter with the CaptorM?
Interestingly, there’s an interview video of a former Raptor pilot that did an exchange program and became a Eurofighter pilot and talked a bit about the Eurofighter’s radar, but I won’t spoil what he said, and this is from a pilot that used legacy US AESA radar.
