Should the Avro Vulcan be added?

It is a real cool looking bomber designed and operated by the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 to 1984.

Looks neat.

It would be incredibly niche, and very difficult to play, even in gamemodes where bombers have somewhat of a role like ASB, but I still want it desperately.

Especially with ARM coming it could be quite a low BR Shrike/AS-37 slinger for GRB and does have 2x Aim-9Gs which would be funny to mess about with at a notably low BR in ARB like 8.7/9.0

The Howl is a required feature and is non-negotionable

yes

Interesting but useless in game.

Looks like a bird with spider eyes in that nightmarish post ww2 British way.

I definetly agree you need the howl XD

new nuke plane + it can carry 22 1000lb bombsm or the 22000lb bomb itself

I thought about that too but it’s as wide as it is long so you are gonna be hard pressed dodging any aa fire.

funny giant bomb tosses always worth it

Depends on the BR, if we figure 8.7/9.0 in GRB, then sticking high-ish with its massive chaff count might be enough to throw radar guided SPAAGs off and the Vulcan does handle quite well.

It could also get Shrike for countering those radar guided SPAAGs and ARM is coming Soon™

Finally it has a decent ECM suite with ECM hopefully being something modeled in the future which again would help a lot with dealing with radar guided SPAAGs.

Short answer - yes

Long answer - yes absolutely

Hmm well that will definitely be a change in game play if you are bringing 2 Shrikes as the nuke plane. But people are going to catch on real quick. The mobile short range AA with radar are just gonna turn of the search radar as soon as they detect the plane relying on the tracking radar which will make the shrike pretty useless as it can’t track a moving target with the radar turned off.

I wonder how ECM is going to be implemented if it’s going to be like a mini game or just shorten the detection range of radars when you have it turned on.

Im thinking about it seperately from being a nuke carrier, and more as a general CAS aircraft.

While true, it also prevents them from being able to use radar lead or locate the Vulcan through cloud cover. Half of the effectiveness of ARM will be the threat of them and not the missiles themselves.

I think its gunna be a lot like how IRCM works on the Su-39 but for radars and with minimum range, which will vary from radar to radar where it can burn through the jamming. Also not all ECM will affect all radars.
