TL;DR:
- Yes, as long as the Ranks of SPAA that are in multiple trees match
- Yes, and SPAA in multiple trees can be at different Ranks for different nations
- No
Longer Description:
With the addition of the Osa-AK/AKM to multiple tech trees with different RP/SL costs for different nations (as pointed out in the Osa RP requirements and a bit more thread), I decided to take a closer look at positions of the SPAA in the latter half of the game’s ranks.
As an Italian GRB player, I had already known that Italy’s SPAA from Rank V onward weren’t placed in the best positions, but when I went through the SPAAs of Italy, Germany, Great Britain, and the USSR trees I noticed that the SPAA line of most of the tech trees are rather disjointed in comparison to the vehicles they would be in lineups with.
In screenshot form, where are the tech trees:
Italy
Germany
Great Britain
USSR
Besides the obvious complaints about some tech trees having sizeable gaps in their SPAA lines, there are major issues with the Rank placement of SPAA.
For example, the Italian tech tree:
- Rank V - The main lineups are 7.0 (only two non-7.7 vehicles) and 8.0, but the only SPAA in Rank V is ZSU-57-2. (So no 8.0 SPAA at the Rank the 8.0 lineup exists.)
- Rank VI - The main lineups are 8.3 (only two non-8.0 vehicles) and 9.3, but the SPAA in the Rank are the 8.0 ZSU-23-4 and the 8.3 SIDAM 25. (So no 9.3 SPAA SPAA at the Rank the 9.3 lineup exists.)
- Rank VII - The main lineups are 10.7 and 11.7, and the SPAA are the 9.7 SIDAM 25 Mistral (the first missile SPAA for Italy), the 10.3 Osa-AKM, and the 11.3 OTOMATIC
- Rank VIII - The main lineup is 12.0, and there is no SPAA for Rank VIII
Outside of the Rank V 8.0 vehicles for Germany having their SPAA being in Rank VI (well, an SPAA 0.3 BR above them), the mismatch of a Rank’s lineup to that lineup’s BR doesn’t occur outside of a pure lack of SPAA within the tech tree.
Even though this seems to be a problem specific to Italy, I’m sure there are nations that have the same problem. Therefore I wanted to make a poll to see if people would support the repositioning of SPAA to match their lineups.
