Should nuke planes be immune to friendly fire?

Found a teamkiller

Bro if anything they should make it so you can level towns in air rb that have enemy in them with napalm. And nukes are awesome to watch the cutscenes before it shows match results. WMD are the most fun things to drop in this game, and that is a fact.

You can not disable Ground - Air / Air - Ground friendly fire otherwise bombers could carpet bomb the map without caring about ally positioning and vice versa SAM SPAAs or regular SPAAs wouldn’t need to take in to account that the enemy has an ally on their tail and shooting will result in friendly fire.

Again, I’m not seeing an issue here. People seem to think that disabling friendly fire, and thus allowing vehicles to fire at will without worrying about hitting friendlies, is somehow more effective than that same vehicle taking their time and using their ordinance specifically against enemy targets. Every team kill that is prevented is one piece of ordinance that is simply going to waste. This is not, and will never be, good gameplay.

Besides, again, we already see those behaviors in game. I’ve seen F-111s carpet bomb entire maps before, the end result is usually a flat nothing, because the majority of a map is absent of all players. And I have absolutely been swatted out of the sky by friendly AA who try and fail to “help” me in a dogfight during ARB. Given that neither event is optimal, and if FF was disabled neither would affect me in any way, I don’t see an argument against it here.

You see the issue you’re just refusing to acknowledge it.

So, to be clear, the issue is that a method of play that’s currently discouraged will instead be completely ineffectual while also preventing said play from actively harming their own teammates?

The only direct downsides to this system are incidental issues that can (And should) be solved with other changes.

Less risky killstealing? There’s a proposed kill attribution rework in the pipeline that proposes to solve this issue.

Pe-8/Lancaster bombs being more effective? That’s an issue with the bombs themselves, using teammate as a meatshield is in no way an effective counter regardless.

At it’s core, all this change does is give players the ability to, instead of teamkilling, simply waste ammo instead. If you solve the other seperate issues that interact with this, where is the problem?

Danger close.

The fact they removed flares from the nuke jag should tell you how they feel about it

wait really? man gaijin really just doesn’t like nato huh?

the nuke su7 didnt have flares to begin with, so no. They hate everyone

Controversial take:

Nukes should be immune to any type of damage

You have to play extremly well to get one in the first place and then you get shot down by some dude spawning a fighter for 400 wp?

I dunno

Thats just my opinion tho you can now tell me to git guud or sth i don’t care

no

Thats just your opinion man (maybe everyones opinion but mine)

Still replying “no” is kind of rude imo

My opinion is my opinion if you don’t like it don’t read it or ignore it

Have a nice day

I should elaborate further, you are right. Nukes aren’t that hard to get, and with how bad teams can really be most of the time, the ability to shoot down the nuke carrier grants you another chance. (I’ve won games because just of this, both ways. Using and shooting the nuker)

Insane topic, and insane poll results by delusional players

friendly fire for nuke planes SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON.

Shooting down nuke plane is BASED.

Your nuke is not needed for anyone in game. You played well, congrats, now go and play next battle. This one is already done

I am not sorry for anything, you should be sorry for trying to censor people who do not agree with you. Your flagging is pathetic
