I am really wondering what’s the point of having to face the best aircrafts available in the game without having any fox3 and even more : only 2 fox1 (even though they are really good).
Important note : we also agree that the problem come also from the matchmaking mechanic that put you against higher BRs most of the time. If they were as much uptiered than downtiered, it would be “more ok”.
As always with this discussion, you can’t ignore the elephant in the room that is BR compression.
Yes, both MiG29A & MiG29G suffer immensely in full uptier. But equally, the things 1.0 BR beneath them suffer against them too.
Moving these planes down isn’t really fixing anything, it’s just passing the pain onto those 1.3 beneath their current BR. And perpetuating the domino effect of compression. You move MiG29G down 0.3 and 11.7s suffer. So you move those down 0.3 and now 10.3’s suffer. You move them down 0.3 now 9.0’s suffer etc etc.
I think the MiG29’s current BR’s are fair in the current state of compression, But ideally, everything would be spaced out much more. At a minimum, current 14.0’s should be 15.0. Then you could bump MiG29’s up to 13.3/13.7. They’d be better off than they are now, and moving them up creates space to decompress beneath them too.
Facing equivalent/superior airframes with vastly better armaments is not very enjoyable. R-27ERs are the best SARH, but they’re still worse than the Aim-120s that almost all 13.0+ planes have. And you only get two, and then you need to rely on just 4 R-60Ms while facing 13.0+ planes.
And that’s ignoring the meh radar, RWR, energy retention, and it’s abysmal fuel usage.
