Should gaijin remove spawn protection after the first shot is fired

My issue with the spawn protection system is that if the player Js out right before the protection ends it doesn’t give someone a kill.

It should be like air, if you J out near someone it gives the closest player the kill.

I think tank vs tank spawn protection is fine, maybe add that if you J out before it ends your kill is credited to closest player. Tank vs Plane is slightly more problematic because how small the maps are you’re usually flying around and not even spawn camping, suddenly you see SPAA that can easily kill you, but from far away but you can’t do anything to him for like 25-30s. Only choice is to dive close to ground. Better hope you were not pulling out from attack run or low energy when that SPAA spawns.

Do I have solution to that? No, not really. If you remove spawn protection from SPAA you will have situation where you spawn and die to bomb that was already on the ground with fuse ticking down and that also ain’t fair. Really best thing is to avoid flying too close to enemy spawn but in maps like Karelia, Ash river, Kuban, Frozen pass… You’re out of luck. You’re in AA range even before you get to tank zone.

as they should. SPAA is far cheaper than a plane.

That was in fact changed a while back, not sure exactly when, but it is possible

There are exceptions, not many though unfortunately

Such a great display of skill right?

One thing I’d like to add is that SPAA radars don’t seem to ping aircraft the moment they spawn, there’s a delay. I haven’t proved this yet so take it with a grain of salt

What are you using that is covering that kind of distance in such a short amount of time?

Opportunity cost is FAR more impactful than spawn points. You have a limited number of players and most games end with the majority of people ABLE to spawn in more vehicles, but choosing not to.

@iboopy @MiGoon_Fox-3 You can detonate ordinance AFTER its dropped, not before. Internal ammo on planes still can’t be detonated. I believe you can knock off ordinance from the pylon, but it does not detonate.

Only AA that get non-tracer belts are 9.0+ that i know of. M247 is the only one i can think of below 10.

AA radars are borked to all hell and back. I believe you are correct. They have a ‘spawn protection’ from radar. Also half the 8.3-9.3 AA have enormous radar wobble (worst i have seen is the amx30 dca which is another level of sad after its recent apds belt removal).

I agree. SPAA have the opportunity to destroy dozens of targets. CAS is limited to 2-3 bombs max, and they MIGHT have time to rearm.

That depends on what hits it. If you shoot an undropped bomb with something small like a .50cal, it just goes poof and disappears. If you hit it with a large HE (not sure exactly how big, but 37mm will do it) then it will explode along with the plane.

The “planes have no internal ammo” argument isn’t a good one anyways since planes are far more fragile than tanks, even open-top SPAA.

Nice fantasy, but no. ordinance still doesn’t detonate, no matter what you hit it with. The wing might explode with a 37mm hit, as it probably counts the pylon as part of the wing, but a 1000lb bomb won’t go up. Given how far bomb explosion lethality is in the air, it would be hilarious though. PE8 would be killing any plane in 800m when that thing detonates (seriously, try dropping assault fuse 5000kg at 800m. It will kill you or damage you badly).

lol… planes survive hits from AA and remain functional. The reverse isn’t true, and open topped AA are vulnerable to bombs 60m away and rockets 15m. I’ve had kill cams from bombs so far away that they don’t even have time to show me my own vehicle before the kill cam timer expires. Its an utter joke.

Dude, there was an entire devblog about it.

And i’m telling you its not functioning in game or was pulled from release. All we have in game is the ‘plane disassembly’ deaths that have been in the game since BETA. I have screenshots from 2013 with bombers losing all their wings and tail from a single hit. thats not ammo detonation, thats just fuselage health zeroing. Have you EVER seen two planes killed from a non-dropped bomb denotonating? No. It doesn’t happen. And even mid-air ordinance detonation from one bomb doesn’t chain react the other undropped ordinance. Its ONLY the dropped ones that are detonating. And its not like you can’t tell the difference. If the kill log shows the ordinance, it was dropped and was its own entity.

And trying to say its gatekept behind 37mm is a joke considering .50s can detonate tank shells. And planes AREN’T favored?
