I feel like instead of having volumetric, they could actually model armour to be realistic, and while volumetric could be useful for top-tier tanks, maybe use volumetric correctly by separating each part of the tank into separate categories (parts, I mean, sorry). And/or implement the ERA and Composite armour correctly/approximately accurately (if it isn’t already, don’t flame me please), so stupid pixels that cause the armour to somehow become 2000mm in places that wouldn’t make sense. Or just add an armour limit to very much fix this problem.
I am playing this game last 52 years and there is no such a thing as unrealistic volumetric armor and also no cheaters in the game. Stop spread lies. And how dare you to suggest making this game, not russian bias base. Admin please ban this man’s account!
There’s nothing to fix.
Volumetric armor removes the issues people have with segmented armor by removing overlapping plates, making the armor “weaker”.
cant tell if this is satire or not lmao
ok so then why does the breach and armor surrounding the ho ri’ gun or practically any part near the flat end of the tanks frontal body go from 150mm to 300 or almost 1000mm? And not only that, but ive seen a lot of bugs with volumetric for the heatfs, an apfsds penning the barrel of certain t90’s where it goes through, pens, yet somehow does nothing even tho breach and gunner/commander is out?
Cause there are plates behind plates.
That’s realistic protection.
1000mm would be over-lapping plates, which is not from volumetric armor.
You’ve seen no bugs with volumetric, you’ve seen old armor doing its thing when introduced to new things.
Volumetric armor fixes what the old armor causes.
either way tanks with volumetric still have armour bugs, volumetric or not. Which is why even with stuff like that, they should still add an armour limit to the tanks to avoid 300mm on a light tank in some spots for example
If I knew the code solution to the overlapping plates issue, I’d suggest it.
I don’t, cause how do you fix overlapping plates without harming spaced armor as a whole?
That’s the challenge, separating mantlet+hull/turret+extra from 2 hull plates overlapping on the same plane.
Russia first!
ik, neither do i, but guess who is? A multimillion-dollar company with a team of developers, coders, designers, and (I doubt) testers. which is why they shoudlve focused more on the quality of the game instead of quantity
eh to be honest, volumetric can be finnicky but it makes for more interesting game than the needle guns that we used to have
also they add updated volumetric model for some tanks every update or so
it would take a lot of research and 1, isnt need for everything and 2, would be impossible for some vehicles to determine the thickness of armour all around a 3d turret
then hire those types of people?
what types of people? I never mentioned anything about people
no im saying to hire people who will research it
they have people that do that already
and my point with this
was that its impossible because many of the examples and data needed simply do not exist anymore
volumetric is mostly fine but it still has lots of problems that do need fixing
You say that like they have any talent or competence. Name ONE mechanic in game that works well and isn’t bugged. Volumetric is just part of a looooong long long line of outdated broken mechanics that need to be replaced (that’s how bugged they are).
Excepted this is completely false because volumetric is so problematic that it completely overshadows the “problem” it sought to fix. Are we playing the same game?
