Should friendly fire risk from artillery be removed?

It may take a while until we get an integrated processors in our brains to help with all the stuff that we see on display, but thanks anyway.

There’s more than enough ppl who would be more than happy to troll their team mates with arty, just as they do now with smoke…

I use smoke constantly, and peopel get peeved that I’m using it to cover me, ignoring I am on the cap, and they are sniping from the back row…

It’s not trolling, it’s just more important for me to be covered, whilst I am pushing up.

Are you also one of those who don’t think they can track multiple targets in SPAA per chance, as that echoes that sentiment to be real.

Just player issues.

You know what?
How about we squad up and see how real the issues that we talked about are?

OK, looks like I have to explain it in an easier way…
If you cover yourself with smoke, it’s OK…
If you use the smoke just to annoy your team mates , it’s trolling…
Hope you get it now…

If they’re actually messing with you directly with smoke, that’s reportable…

Otherwise, it’s there to be used.

Really, I don’t have trouble with the game and I don’t die by friendly artillery on the regular, so I don’t see how you’re going to prove your point…

I keep an eye on the minimap, and I communicate with my team in detail, and without issue.

It’s absolutely going to end up being a player issue, and thus I don’t think the friendly fire should be removed more as it can easily be abused.

You’d be able to artillery a point and merely have everyone keep rushing it, because they’re invulnerable to the artillery that’s been placed.

That’d be so dumb…

It’s not only about arty fire, we had lengthy discussions about 1 death leavers and the related stuff. There are plenty of things I’d like to see how You deal with in an actual random battle in WT.

This thread is about the artillery…

The ODLs I don’t care about as that is thier choice, but I do lean to them being punished more to force them to actually make a better attempt than 3 minutes in a 25 minute match.

I just don’t get caught up on being upset and mad at the game, in game. There’s no reason to be all outbursty, and accusatory in the game itself as it makes it harder for others in your matches to avoid your troubles.

I know, I made it. To be more precise, it asks whether the risk of friendly fire from it should be removed.

Either way, I take it as a “no”, to the squadding up offer. You had the chance to prove Your points.
Very well, then, carry on.

The demand you have for me to squad with you, is neither here nor there.

The want to bring in the ODLs and ‘various other issue’ is clamoring for a ‘reason’ to be all ‘SEEE I TOLLLLD YY OOOUOUU’ about it more than actually doing anything.

I’ve had a player do this to me before… I squaded with them, whilst they were proclaiming the game was too hard, then hid behind a rock, in spawn telling me, ‘I’ll watch you die’… Literally… Just baited me to lonewolf a match so they could do exactly that…

But fact is we don’t need artillery to be non-friendly damaging because as I said, it doens’t make the player acknowledge the situation, and leads to ignoring the situation more, more likely doing more damage because the requirement for less awareness.

I don’t care to squad with you, because your mind is already made up. I’m fine to prove you wrong, but I don’t see how I can merely prove to you that I don’t die to friendly artillery, nor do I even care in the slightest if I am got by friendly artillery as often I am on the point, capping and getting enoguh points to respawn.

It’s all part of the game, the same as the idea that you need to be looking around in this ‘frantic combat game’ that everyone wants to change, so they can do better…

Not necessarily, it could be that I just failed to notice some things when playing. And You could help me. We both would gain… remind me, does the game reward extra RP/SL when playing in squad? Well, in either case, I heard that in squad the game tends to be easier. So, I see it as win-win.

Oh. What happened next?
Or You’d rather share this story in DMs? Or not at all?

Maybe, maybe not.

is it, really? I suppose I do have preferences molded by the experience in WT. But I’m curious how did it made us have to come to so wildly different conclusions.

You can prove me wrong, or, at the very least, show me a different perspective by the way You play the game.

It really doesn’t matter what happened because he was already set in the ‘you’re failing’ and abandoned the team by sitting back doing nothing…

I reported him for passive behaviour and went about the match.

Ah, ok.

No you shouldn’t have to pay unless a friendly player is inside the circle when you chose the location. I am sick of people driving into artillery. They can see the smoke but they still drive in an then you have to pay. It’s damn ridiculous, you shouldn’t even have to say sorry if they cause their own demise.

Artillery is a stupid feature anyways. It’s a braindead, spammable, and luck based feature with unlimited uses and 0 risk to the user.

It was one thing I did like about World of Tanks, artillery.

plain and simple, if you see orange smoke avoid that area. But… nm I will just get myself silenced again.

That’s the problem, you drop arty and idiots race in under it and then you have to pay for it if you can’t hit you T quick enough. It’s BS!
