I understand bombs are physical objects and can be shot down, hell I even understand when the bomb gets destroyed while still in the bomb bay before you drop it.
What I don’t understand is when the nuke leaves the plane, it should be armed. Instead it can just be shot out of the sky and disappear like nothing was ever there, and I just find it a bit odd.
So i was flying to the battle Field and an A2D destroyed my bomb While it was in my BombBay with the doors closed. If that’s intended it needs to be removed Right now

That’s not how nuclear warheads work. Shooting them doesn’t make them explode.
We all know this IRL, but in the game the nuke should go off.
But the snail feeds off of our suffering, and what better way to make suffering than to reward a prize for a difficult challenge the yank the prize away last second.

It shouldn’t explode if it is shot down, just like getting enough points to spawn a nuke plane shouldn’t guarantee a win.
It should, just like regular bombs. They also deal damage to anyone near them when exploding.
Well, if boolets can detonate the conventional explosives of conventional bombs in War Thunder, then boolets can also detonate the conventional explosives part of the nukes in War Thunder, which would initiate the uncontrolled fission reaction, detonating the nuke.
Nukes don’t explode if they get shot though.
If anything, the guy that manages to shoot down a nuke should get rewarded.

If the reaction doesn’t happen in the exact right order no nuclear blast happens. It is highly unlikely that a bullet piercing that “trigger” would cause it to act exactly the way it is supposed to.
actually shooting a nuke down midair would actually cause alot more damage than it would if it detonated on the ground source: the fact that airburst is actually the most common way nukes are set to explode and basic knowledge of physics (ground deflects most damage upwards when detonated on the ground)
that charts not correct actually but you statements still correct the 1st nukes were detonated by a conventional explosive forcing a reaction inside the casing (by passing something into something else cant remember what and that’s what jumpstart the reaction )IIRC

Mate, a nuke wouldn’t cause a nuclear blast if it was shot down.
yes, yes they can they very easily could any pen into a nuke can easily cause the core to go supercritical (btw shot down means hit and detonated mid air, in game its not actually supposed to be possible to disarm a bomb by shooting it)
