Unfortunately, there’s no diagram of the weapons mount.

I doubt it. More likely 12.0 with PL-8 + R-27R, 12.3 with PL-8B + R-27R, and 12.7 with PL-8B + R27ER
There should be no R27ER, and the maximum for PL8B+R27R is 12.3
It has a radar similar to the MiG-29SMT (except for the ability to use the R-77 and one datalink channel), so there’s no problem if the developer wants to use the R-27ER. In reality, very few countries used the R-27ER
But I’d certainly prefer a good 12.0-12.3 aircraft to fill the 11.3-13.0 gap
If there is no R77, it should be in 12.3（similar to mig21bison）
Or have R77 at 13.0
I want to see this missile in the game, it looks like a better version of the PL-8

The PL9 is a PL8 that uses the Sidewinder’s wing design to circumvent the export ban agreement on the Python 3.
I knew I wasn’t losing my mind. I have looked for the J-8 and R-77 capability a lot several months ago, as it was getting mentioned although only on 3rd party sites. The guaranteed, but sadly only photographic proof I have found was just a single one, mounted on a J-8D.
The image is old, before AI generation and such. I’ve looked into noise detection programs if it was potentially fake but it is not. The more proof of it, the better.
(Yes those are also Kh-31’s, most likely the base 31A variant as it is a naval aircraft)

Was that the one with the Zhuk radar?
That would be the F-8IIM. The J-8D still had some domestic Chinese radar, although I’m not sure if it got upgraded from the J-8B one.

Did not know r-77 was actually used by non Russian radars.
Like ik it’s possible in theory and it was advertised as such but actually seeing it is very interesting
I should note that I have no idea if that specific J-8D had a radar upgrade, as there is literally nothing I can find except that image. The radar cone looks differently colored but that’s it from visual differences. The J-8D (overall, not this one specifically) I think had a green cone earlier on but later a black radar cone, but I am not sure if that means it had a radar upgrade too.

i dont think china had any Kh-31As, ive only heard of the acquisition of downgraded Kh-31P as KR-1
also black radome would probably be this “J-8G” based on J-8H which had its maiden flight in 2001
