I’m just hoping they give it the WS-10A engines with more thrust.
Gaijin seems to have refused to supply upgraded engines for the Russian Su-27SM, so I wouldn’t count on the Chinese flanker getting stronger engines at this point.
Every J-11B starting from second production batch gets new engines. I would be very surprised if Gaijin selects initial batch.
All that remains is to wait for the gaijin’s decision.
but it’s generally strange that the flankers won’t have more powerful engines when the game has an F-15 with a 229 engine.
Does anyone know what type of targeting pod the J-11B could use if it ever had one and what type of air to ground/surface weapons it was equipped with? I also have doubts we’ll receive the later production batch of the J-11B with the WS-10 engines knowing Gaijin (they’ll give it the J-11A treatment).
It’s best to dig information now or Gaijin will half-as* the vehicle and guess/estimate it’s capabilities.
Seeing that the F-15E went from having the old engines to Gaijin giving them the newer PW-229s, I think we’ll be able to do something about it if that is the case.
Unfortunately, ground attack was not a major consideration for the J-11B and its air-to-ground munitions remains essentially the same as the J-11 and J-11A we have ingame, so no targeting pod or guided munitions. A true multirole Flanker will be J-16. But it seems that J-10B is coming next update and that will be better at attacking ground targets compared to J-11B.
I’m like 90% certain that the SU-30MKK in Chinese service were capable of firing and equipping themselves with the KH-29T missiles, would it be safe to assume the same for the J-11B? There has to be at least one single smart munition the J-11B could carry for ground missions, surely right?
Alleged image of the J-11A in late service with the KH-29T, posted in this exact thread a while ago.
The more Chinese vehicles become indigenous, the more likely they will use their own ammunition instead of Russian ammunition (well, this applies to some aircraft) I am still waiting for Gaijin to release a good ground weapons order for China rather than adding the 26th version AGM-65 or KH-29… where are our : KD-88, C-705KD, C-704KD, C-701KD we already have the JH-7A, JF-17 and J10A which can fire its missiles, and probably the J10B and J16 when they come into play
the bottom of the problem is not to know if gaigjin will put such armament on the future plane of the Chinese tree but why are there not all the armaments on the planes already in play!?
why are the Russians this step of the KH-38MT: IR+IOG, carry 40 km and 20 in lock, mach 2, equivalent to TNT 152 kg and that the Chinese tree is not entitled to the minimum indicated by the C-701KD: IR, carry 25 km, mach 0.9, SAPHE 30 kg
the problem is here
The problem is we already have Chinese aircraft in the game that can carry good air-to-ground munitions, but Gaijin chose not to give it to them.
Like what?
Last I heard JH-7A has its best munitions already.
And the J-11s we have can’t bring great air to ground weapons.
yes and in terms of air-to-ground ammunition China has a good equivalent and we don’t even have the native minimum we have to type the Russian or US ammunition… which are obesolet variants
“KD-88”
IR/TV
range 200 km
165 kg warhead
and has the ability to be directed by the pilot to strike the target in the final phase
J-10A is missing like so much of its air-to-ground armament its not even funny.
JH-7A should be able to carry four KH-29s instead of only two.
These are all missiles that can be fired by existing aircraft in the Chinese TT.
it can carry, but I don’t think give it things like K-88 is a fine idea, it will cause BR rise, 2 more KH-29T is fine. J-10A/JF17 can use C-701KD, and it’s fine to add them and make them top CAS, and the issue has passed, now we need to push gaijin to finish it.
Well KH-29s are meme weapons sadly. Not as good as LGBs.
J-10 only getting two LGBs is sad, and no air-to-ground missiles.
that’s not coming to the game for years
Yeah, nah, Gaijin will never allow this. 200km max range with manual TV guidance which would allow missile not only be shot safe, but be immune to cover, smokes or friendly fire (as long as the player can ID properly). At best it will be gutted like Brimstones, leaving pure TV IR and restricting by 20km max (or closer because of spaghetti code)
