I thought it still used the older engines from the J-11A because the WS-10 engines werent ready yet
WS-10A engines of the J-11B have 132 kilonewtons of thrust with full afterburner. For reference, AL-31F has 122.6 kilonewtons of thrust with full afterburner.
The very initial batch used AL-31F, but every J-11B starting from the second production block uses WS-10A. I don’t think Gaijin will add initial block J-11B.
Watch them do the kitbash like J-11A
We will know once the dev server drops and we get a look of the model. WS-10A nozzle length is different compared to AL-31F and all Saturn variants, it is shorter.
WS-10A
Saturn engines
Also if Gaijin still decides to give J-11B PL-5EII I will cry. J-11B’s wingtip pylons are literally adapted to carry PL-8. And it is PL-8B.
If they were so worried about balancing, they could just give it gatewigth IRCCM
This. It aint something new for the Snail to gut features just to make them “balanced” (like Brimstones)
They’ve done it already with PL-5EII. Real PL-5EII has IRCCM similar to TY-90, though for balancing ingame it has gatewidth.
Exactly
Chinese Air Power by Yefim Gordon says it is 700kg lighter than an Su-27SK.
RCS is also reduced from 15m^2 to range of 5m^2 -3m^2. Features MAWS and second batch start using the WS-10A engine instead of the AL-31F’s. Radar, I have conflicting sources, one says Type 1493 and the other says possibly the Type 1474. Additional tertiary source says Type 1493.
Anyone got any confirmation of which one it is?
what are the chances that the J-11B will get a good radar, at least comparable to the J-10A?
It would be a shame to have another plane that you don’t want to fly because of its radar.
From a tertiary source: “In terms of avionics, the J-11B has a Chinese multi-function pulse-Doppler radar known as the Type 1493 with a search range of up to 150km (93 miles). It can track six to eight targets and engage four simultaneously” So if it gets the 1493 it should be a very good radar, I think better than J-10A.
It’s way better than the J-10A radar.
Bitchen
Fuck yeah
then it will be wonderful.
At the same time, I want to ask - does the J-11B have a comparable number of missiles as the J-11A, or does it have additional pylons?
Can these schemes be trusted?
the first one apparently doesn’t apply to the J-11b. It’s the J-16, I got it mixed up
J-11B’s main air-to-air armament will be PL-12 and PL-8B, maybe PL-12A which has slightly increased range.
6x PL-12s and 4x PL-8Bs should be the ideal loadout that comes to the game. One of the J-11B prototypes also displayed dual PL-12 racks underneath the engine air inlets, but I’m not sure if Gaijin will add it to the game. This would increase to 8x PL-12s and 4x PL-8Bs.
I see, thanks for the answer. Let’s wait to see what Gaijin does.
