The standard J-15 has avionics from the J-11B . The J-15T has avionics from the J16.
It uses different weapons, need to adapt structure for carrying a different radar, and maybe the fact that it uses a different FBW needs change to structure as well.

I would be satisfied with the j15 even without composite materials. The Su33 is a beautiful and it seems to me a very cool aircraft, but its huge problem is outdated avionics. The J15 literally solves the problem, I don’t care if it has composites in its construction or not. The plane was cool, and it will remain so. I hope they will add it along with j11B, but unfortunately it is very unlikely.

FBW’s importance is not about the wires, but rather the on board computer systems, which clearly are changed, doesn’t matter what angles they have, they responds to controls completely differently.
I’d assume they took some from J16 since it is already existing ECM stuff and ground/surface search.
There are many reports about J-15 using composites and even Metal 3D print structure to reduce weight.
It’s the very early version, just changed some frame to reduce weight.
