Gaijin just thinks PL12AE = PL12A is enough.

Yeah cause if chinas naming scheme would be consistent it would mean the PL-12A is the inservice designation

Reading all the cope in this chat gives second hand embarrassment holy hell

atleast they removed the “E” from the missile designation

Gaijin has been failing to do that for some radras
like the Irbis-E or the Zhuk-AE

The E lowkey would be more accurate in this case lmao

you know what makes it better

they dont have the E in their file names, so it is just N035 and N010A

Then what‘s the difference between PL-12A and PL12AE? Just export version or they have something really different

It is not known what the PL-12A actually is

the PL-12A ingame is the PL-12AE

if we go via china´s very (not) reliable naming scheme it is the inservice version, issue is that a missile similar to the PL-12AE was never spotted on chinese fighters

As such the PL-12A designation is a very grey one, as it might be what it is ingame or just not exist at all

Kind of like something between PL12 and PL15 for export purposes?

I guess

The report got accepted. Will the J-16 get a better VNE?

Question why don’t they use the KLJ10A? i know that the J-16 likely doesn’t use the KLJ10A, but it also likey doesn’t use the KLJ7A. So why not use the better radar?

Also does the J-16 have a built-in thermal camera that can be used to designate targets like the mig-29?

Its uses a renamed KLJ-10A cause the vertical coverage is slightly differently arranged the the other ones

Doens’t the KLJ-10A have more azimuth?

No literally the same

Oh

What are those yellow side panels?

sidelooking Aesa apertures, and no this radar has no relation to the J-series of planes at all par the JF-17
