I can accept even only 2 dual pylon, but it should be installed on the plane belly, like su30sm,which does not disturb the ground weapon on wings and intakes

yes that will be good.

hope this could come ture😭

It’s theoretically feasible, but I’ve only seen the twin-rail pylon underneath the intake.

So, does anyone have any sources that Chinese aircraft are equipped with integrated ESMs?

Most often, ESM sensors are designed as special pods, or equipped anti-radiation missiles act as such sensors. For example, the AGM-88 HARM has this functionality. However, sometimes electronic support sensors are integrated directly into the aircraft’s systems, allowing them to retain functionality even after all anti-radiation missiles have been fired.

prolly not, we dont even really know what RWR they use (atleast the top tier ones)

In the case of the ESM, I think it’s enough that the fact of its existence is mentioned. For example, this book mentions that the J-16 has it and that it’s somehow more advanced than the Su-35:

But I couldn’t find anything else about regular aircraft. Only about the specialized J-15/16D.

We only know that ESM exists and roughly where it’s located but no further information beyond that.

Idk why, but I find this picture is so funny

Because “Yes, this ECM, not the giant pods under engines and on inner pylons”

ECM not equal ESM

Arent those both tho?

No, ECM is electronic warfare, and ESM is radio-technical intelligence and is usually part of the RWR

I mean, those pods explicitly?

In the case of the J-16D, I don’t know.

Fair. On another note, I wonder if we could got those on technicality (“technically compatible”) for a regular J-16 whenever it arrives

Thank you. ^^

Most likely, the J-16 and J-10C will have KG-600/700

jf-17 aswell, no?
