didnt knew it had a pylon thats slightly to the side

i thought it would have to carry it on the centerline

I also only recently learned about this
I think there was information somewhere about the 10-point suspension of the JF-17, but I don’t remember where I saved it.

I’m not too knowledgeable on this stuff but does the JH-7 too??

I just wonder because I went for the Attacker line I mostly play GRB and I like the look of the JH-7

Maybe
But I don’t have the exact characteristics of this ECM.

same as J-11B(G) and even Su30MKK

For dedicated electronic warfare aircraft like the EA-18G, J-16D, and J-15D, the wingtip pods are fixed ESM pods used for collecting and locating emission sources and analyzing signal characteristics. The large pods mounted under the wings are dedicated ECM jamming pods, employed for directional jamming and suppression of radars, data links, and other systems. Typically, each pod covers a specific frequency band; to cover the broadest possible spectrum, these aircraft carry as many pods as possible. Similar large pods in their export variants were reportedly showcased at the Zhuhai Airshow alongside the J-16D.

I rarely see J-10Cs carrying KG600/700-series ECM pods—only a few times. As for the J-16 (not the D variant), I’ve never come across a photo of it carrying an ECM pod either; in fact, its internal systems are already sufficient to perform the functions of a self-protection ECM pod. The only exception comes from “internal sources” regarding a joint exercise between the PLAAF and Pakistan, where it was mentioned that a J-16 was equipped with J-16D’s pods to simulate high-intensity electronic warfare in BVR engagements (since the J-16D hadn’t entered service at that point). This exercise also reportedly facilitated the export of the J-10CE to Pakistan. Photographs from the 98th Brigade’s history hall are said to showcase the J-16’s dominance during that exercise.

translation:
From August 13 to September 7, 2019, our brigade deployed five J‑16 aircraft to Dingxin Air Base to participate in the joint training exercise codenamed “Eagle‑VII” with the Pakistani military. During this period, a total of 11 operational sessions were organized, during which 70 sorties were flown, and 51 “Blue Force” aircraft were shot down (including 14 J‑10C, 3 J‑11B, 1 J‑11BS, 11 JF‑17, 13 Mirage V, and 9 F‑7PG). This joint exercise was the first time our unit had conducted a bilateral training event with a foreign military since its establishment. During the exercise, studies were completed on the attack envelope and evasive tactics for a certain type of missile (referring to the PL‑15), and validation was performed on: the basic tactics of mixed formations of J‑16 aircraft with a certain type of aircraft (specifically, a J‑16 carrying pods to simulate the J‑16D); the feasibility of lofted launches at certain altitude ranges; and the J‑16’s airborne radar capability to detect and distinguish specific types of enemy formations.

maybe four pylons can carry ECM pods

seems like JH-7 has two kinds of ECM pods

  • PL-12A:

    • added back 7 m GNSS designation error

😢

it doesn’t matter for ARH missiles

Very nice CG of a J-16/16D’s cockpit from weibo.
Only thing thats wrong is the top right MFD which should be triangular and the panels in the WSO seat are also wrong
