Yes 100% that is the only acceptable way I see the 11BG being implemented besides as a 420krp speed bump! The only notable visual difference between the 11B and BG is the change of nosecone color afaik… Wonder how they would do that if gaijin went with the modification option.

Bvr is more about the ability for a radar to sustain targets in it’s given angle, increased azimuth isn’t beneficial for combat, only situational awareness

Yeah the Su30’s wouldn’t be too great, I just want them because of the Flat-top vertical stabilizers lol!

I’m not arguing that Gimballed AESA radars are bad, quite the contrary, they are exceptionally good on the JAS-39E for example, however they do not have a definitive advantage outside of notching performance, and with the gimbal restricting coverage, they sacrifice overall awareness in front of the aircraft at any one time if the gimbal is in effect, which is what war thunder’s current BVR meta focuses on, frontal awareness and radar efficiency, with high gimbal limit radars being beneficial but fairly niche
later J-11B’s should also have WS-10B engines

So Aesa + significantly higher thrust

Imo the BG would be best as an Event vehicle maybe … I personally don’t feel like the engines and AESA are worth another 420,000rp when the J16 will be right there. If they added the 11BG as the next end of line vehicle I know for sure I won’t be in any kind of rush to actually get it. But that might just be me, who knows haha.
To me it would feel like another J11A situation, like sure it’s an upgrade but it’s hardly a meaningful one when there are other more unique options available

They should remove the first J-11 and folder the J-11B with a B late
The base J-11 is cool, the J-11A however can go, i’d be more than happy to see the J-11A replaced with a late B

Yep, it will be lucky to just not end up worse.
The only issue with this is that I can’t recall gaijin ever having a modification that physically changes the engines for different ones, theres just no precedent for it right now. Gaijin usually doesn’t do things as ‘adventurous’ as that despite it being a great idea. :(
J11BG if added would most likely get foldered with J11B, which would result in a cost of Just 210,000 rp (more or less)

Thing is though the temptation of R73s.
I mean I wouldn’t mind it being a folded J-11, since I don’t really mind the radar as much as cause the R27ETs and R73s, although the rwr does suck.
Nah, BG must come with new missiles, so that would be a whole new BR. 14.7 at least with 15/12A and PL10.
At this point we can only wait and see what gaijin decides to do regarding any of it haha.
