It’s newer, more efficient and roughly the same size as the Irbis, and as seen in a recent incident between some southern asian nations, the Chinese made AESAs are very much capable, and if the J-10CE radar is that good, I have reason to believe that the J-16 one will be better
Do we even know how it looks like?
Irl sure not for wt tho
True
Doesn’t really matter since not modeled
Su35 has better defensive suite but less cms
More thrust but no tvc
Bvr sure not for df
We have a rough Idea what it’ll look like
Faster scan rate, better acquisition, higher target retention are all more relevant than gimbal limits
Source?
TVC has no benefit beyond the maneuver button in game, moot point
Dogfighting performance is irrelevant when the PL-10 exists
Thats great and all, but quite literally worthless to implementation in-game, so my point still stands.
Source?
Common sense
Check out my posts on su27 thread, don’t wanna clutter this thread with them
Terrible reasoning
Not going to bother, China gets both so I won’t be missing out on anything, however don’t be disappointed when the J-16 does turn out to be a better all rounder in game
I think su35 will definitely be better. Yes china will get both which is nice
Both are wild claims when there is practically 0 available information on both lol
“Is my radar’s ability to function more important than being able to look to the side” come on use your brain
Again sure using common sense a fixed plate aesa will be better than a gimbaled one like on su35. But again there’s no evidence
Sub 10km fine, but anything past that and it’s fairly clear who wins that figbt
Bruh you linked as J-15/J-11B cockpit it has nothing to do with the J-16 its not even remotely similar
Not really. R771s are much better off bore and j16 will never be able to launch arh missiles because su35 can stay in notch while launching its missiles. And they removed launching arh from irst
Gimballing radars are efficient for large area sweeps and defensive BVR, something the J-16 is not required to do, as a result it priorities power and scan rate within it’s boundaries, being an AESA
Again where are you getting this from. Irbis e is already super powerful anyways
Su-35 because R-77-1 > PL-12 in WT
The top photo is J-15 and gives an idea what the MFDs will loon like, the top image is from a J-16D and shows about 1/5th of the cockpit, including one large vertical MFD on the left hand side
