yeah, read on on this post when i asked and yamahagi answers

For the J-16D or J-15DT/DH, the wingtip ESM pods are permanently fitted, while additional offensive ECM pods targeting different frequency bands are carried on other hardpoints. In the case of the J-11B/J-15, wingtip defensive ECM pods similar to those on the Su-35 lack sufficient power to meet modern aerial electronic warfare demands, prompting the PLAAF to employ larger ECM pods that occupy heavy-duty hardpoints. As for the J-15T and J-16, they also utilize underwing ECM pods, though their AESA radars often serve as powerful ECM transmitters in their own right.

What are the folding fins for? Naval launchers? Or to enable carriage of more in internal bays or something rather than just cropping the fins?

I find Chinese developments incredibly interesting, but so hard to follow.

The folding fin design allows the J-20 and J-35 to carry six PL-15 missiles internally, whereas only four could be accommodated otherwise.

Thankyou. Do you know why they didn’t just simply crop the wings?

I’m presuming it wasn’t feasible as they’d need to be cropped so heavily they’d be ineffective.

I like to see the J-35 doing well. Currently one of my favourite aircraft.

In fact, the PL-15 already had its fins trimmed to fit inside internal weapon bays, while the PL-16 took it a step further by eliminating fins altogether. The folding-fin variant, the PL-15E, appears to have been developed specifically for export in conjunction with the J-35AE.

Chinese thing’s develop follows a rule.
Service a generation, developing a generation, pre researching a generation, exploring a generation
they are in same time. so things comes really fast.
this also caused some changes.
like the WS-15 is delayed because the later version WS-10 already go beyond the old WS-15, so the WS-15 needs to go further. It’s said it now aims for over 18t after burner thrust.

J16 is similar in weight to the Su30SM meaning its a brick with No TVC no canards J15s only dowside is countermeasures it weighs less turns more and has better TWR as its based on a single seater rather than a 2 seater J16 is literally a F15E

j-15 is 17.5 tons empty compared to the ~19 tons empty of the su-33.
as for j-16, who knows.

J16 should weigh 18 something tons its .5 ton heavier you could also check empty weight of SU30 to see should be a bit lighter but not lighter than J15

The J-16 is calculated around 17.7-18.3t and has significantly more thrust than the SU-30SM in game. it is by no means a brick, its lighter and has more thrust

still heavier than the J15T and late J11s with similar engines not saying its bad but id far rather J15T over J16

J15t will have much less cms then the j16, I think the best Chinese flanker will be either j11d or su35

The J-15 is 17.5t and if given the AL-31 it has a lower TWR compared to the J-16 and half the CM’s

J11D will definetely be the best one as its similar weight to early SU27s with thrust greater than Su27SM J16 is based on SU30 which in game right now is complete buns so im not a fan it defiently could be added id much rather See J11D or J15T

J15T also has WS10H

On 1 prototype as far as we know and no known thrust figures for it

Al31f series 5, ws10h only on prototypes

I couldn’t find evidence that AL-31F-5 or AL-31F-5-01 are in service yet (or in any other form).

However, I heard in other Forums that WS-10H has been cleared for service introduction.
