then why does the j15 have 48CMs ? the only other flanker with 48CMs is the su-33. why would they reduce the amount of CMs. this reduction wasn’t applied to the J16 only J15.

Carrier-based Flanker variants had to shorten the tailcone to accommodate the essential arrestor gear for landing, consequently reducing the capacity for CMs.

nice ig they are planning to implement it soon.

possibly won’t see it irl.
there is never trouble for it to use double pylon. it’s just not needed irl

they will probably show its compatible when its ready.

Sadly, we’ve never even seen the J-16 utilizing all 12 of its pylons.

I mean, this is can be counted;

The only shame about this photo is that the wingtip pylons are empty, but other than that, it’s absolutely perfect, lol.

Man i really hope they add the J-16 in the December update along with other next gen IR slingers

Does the j-16 even use pl-8s?only seen it with pl10, and i doubt next gen ir missiles will come next patch

only pl-10
PL-8 requires the special large pylon for its huge fin

J11BFlanker(C)b27c(1)

Only PL-10’s due to the wing tip pylon

dont they usually use jammer pods there ?

Not next patch but the December one is a good candidate, most further additions dont really make sense with the older missiles we have right now.
And they’re needed before they add stealth jets sometime next year

Not really unless its a J-15D or J-16D they’ve internalized them on non dedicated EW platforms from what ive heard

Yeah, only stealth jet that can carry old ir missiles are the American based ones, all the Russian and Chinese ones are stuck with next gen ir missiles so they better add next gen Ir missiles somewhat soon

next gen IR would suck hard cus it will only increase the gap between everything vs the rafale. (8x mica ir that can outrange/outnumber every other IIR)

Because carrier-based Flanker variants had to shorten the tail cone to make room for the essential arrestor gear used during landings, the capacity for countermeasures was consequently reduced. Oh, forgive me — I don’t really know how to use the forum’s quote function, but our friend Yamahagi has already answered your question. At the same time, this only shows that the J-15 indeed borrowed some design elements from the T10K. But what does that have to do with the Su-33? You can’t just say your cousin is your mother simply because you two look alike.

Yup… only missiles that come close would be maybe pl-10, r74m2 and maybe asraam, Altho that doesn’t get datalink. Pl-10 might be artificially limited to 20km though…
And then mica ir ng just nukes everything
