Yep. They originally did copy the entire thing off N001, as a placeholder, and then they took the F15E radar’s stats.
Left over of the placeholder since they likely copied it off (made the placeholder) prior to the fix.

I tried, it got immediately closed before I could even edit as not enough info (I saved/posted it and was still editing it to avoid accidentally deleting everything). I managed to get it reopened (Gunjob helped), but by the time I did the frustration from having two reports closed on you while you edit them killed all steam.
The issue is that they want concrete evidence of the performance of the IRST to correct the stats they already implemented without actually using any themselves (it was a copy-pasting issue, after all). It is natural that one would implement the J-11B’s IRST to be the same as the Su-27SK’s when they have no info on it and the plane is an upgrade of the SK. However, that does not pass with them. If a more sympathetic tech mod reads the bug report then it will, so if you know anyone like, please tell me.
Also, filing 4 reports on the OLS-27’s significant under-performance and being told time and time again that it is fixed (it is not) does not do wonders to my motivation either. Frankly, most IRSTs are under-performing, especially in afterburner plume detection ranges.

Here it is.
Don’t know if it will be enough for now, tell me if you want to add anything to it. Anybody have info on the Su-30SM’s or J-11B’s IRST? A manufacturer’s website or even a news article without any stats will do (just to show that is is the same or upgraded from the OLS-27).
Also, any tech mods that specifically deal with Chinese Air bug reports?

China copied off the Su27 IRST originally which is partially why in the tech transfer of J-11 IRST wasn’t part of it. After that it’s a guessing game much like the radar.
Might be worth it to DM the CN coordinator Monika_in_action , CBR managers got the habit of asking for sources even on things that devs used guesswork.

If necessary I am sure we can find some sort of memoir mentioning sth like it was a successor of the su27 one. I’ll give it a look first.
the excerpt from the book i just posted says ols 30 is a development of the irst of the 27k (su33), which itself was a development of the irst on the su-27. not sure where to source stuff for the j11 tho
