does anyone have an idea of what radars does the j11BG,j15T and j16 use?.curious due to the fact that all sources say they use " aesa radar" but no designation, unlike j20 which is known to be carrying the klj-5

pl-15e is 145km, although I am unsure if that’s the one with folding fins shown at the zuhai air show or the original export model from years ago

It is confusing as to which one is PL-15E.

They are all in fact later than J-20 (2012 first flight), so their radar being specified latter is reasonable.

Probably reasonable considering PL-15E is 140km, and achieved kills at around 100km, this range is more than reasonable. Seeing PL-12 is also listed then this range could probably be assumed to be more in line with that of PL-12’s range’s test conditions.

i asked what is the radar model ( example type 1493 etc , u get what i mean)

Under no circumstances can the range depicted in this diagram be achieved. Calculating the average speeds of the PL-12 and PL-15 based on the head-on and tail-chase data points shown in the diagram reveals that to achieve these values, the PL-12 would require an average speed below 200 m/s, while the PL-15 would need to exceed 1400 m/s—both of which are physically impossible.

The 145 km range of the PL-15E is not its maximum value. Considering that the PL-12AE, which has an identical engine size, achieves a range of 120 km, and given that the PL-15E features smaller wings and a longer, lighter airframe, it can be inferred that this range corresponds to a scenario where the ignition interval of its dual-pulse engine is zero.

I attempted to simulate the dual-pulse scenario, but StatShark appears to lack this capability, forcing me to treat the carrier aircraft’s speed as the first pulse during testing. Nevertheless, the test results demonstrated that the PL-15 possesses the capability to maintain a terminal speed exceeding Mach 2 when launched at distances greater than 200 km.

In fact, we don’t even know the official military designation of Type 1493—for instance, while Type 1473 is designated as KLJ-3 by the military (with “1473” being its research institute code: “14” representing the 14th Research Institute, “7” indicating an approximately 700mm aperture, and “3” denoting its development sequence).

Does anyone know what type of MAWS the J-11B uses (in real life, optical or UV), the specific name for the system and why it has both forward and rearward coverage (in-game) even though the MAWS is only visible on the rear of the aircraft clearly facing backwards (from what I can see, also in-game)?

I feel like the S740 MAWS on the J-11B is more of a placeholder thing which weirdly has stuck, the radar model is funnily enough still broken/wrong and the HUD of the aircraft is STILL missing its tint.

MAWS wise I am pretty certain it is rear aspect only, although on the name part I have nothing to add, just an unknown model.

I was just thinking about the new SPAA’s PROBABLY coming next update.
and since we’ll probably finally get a top tier aircraft
We’ll hopefully get a domestic AGM of some sort KD-88 or CM-704 or something along those lines.

I couldn’t find any valid information on the KD-88 on a quick search, does anyone have any specs or the likes?

The KD-88 is the land-attack variant of the YJ-83 series anti-ship missile. Its export version, the CM-802AKG, boasts a range of 220 kilometers and employs an inertial navigation system (INS) with mid-course updates via a two-way data link, man-in-the-loop control, and terminal infrared imaging guidance (the KD-88 also features TV imaging and radar-guided versions).

I see, thanks.

If we get a new AGM what would you guess we’ll get?
im leaning towards them giving us the CM-704KG
Which has been exhibited with the J-10C but as far as I know its never been seen carried by a J-16/11
Or it might not even be compatible

Long range: KH59, KD-88, YJ-91
Short range: CM502KG

Is the 502 compatible with any PLAAF jets?

Theoretically, any PLAAF aircraft can carry this weapon, but whether it has been operationally deployed by the PLAAF remains unclear.

Does anyone know why the windshield and canopy for the J-11B has a purplish tint to it? Wasn’t it meant to be full glass like the prior J-11A and J-11, or is this accurately represented in-game?

you still need to prove that the plane can technically carry said weapon

They don’t. J11B never got any Russian avionics so there is no evidence as to it having ability to carry KH29, yet it got KH29. It’s up to Gaijin. If u want sth added that’s another thing.

what air to ground does it get, kd88?

Non technically, never seen carrying any I believe or at least as far as I am aware. Could carry KD88 in theory.
