This is the best view of the J-16’s WS-10B we’ve ever seen im pretty sure.
It might be old I’m not sure when it was released

Also anyone more knowledgeable on Jet engines what’s the parts that’s been blurred? And why

Our local Sukhoi engine knower was banned, so no

I’m sure there’s others here that know.
I’d guess it’s the gearbox but I’m unsure as to why it would be blurred

Probably stuff like an Oil or Fuel pump

engine control parts
it should be an old WS-10B
you can find similar things in any jet engine

What BRCCF?

Yes

Still puzzled to his ban. Is it permanent?

I don’t know about that

Yeah figured.
Just a pretty weird thing to blur out…

Huh, never noticed that there’s seemingly 2 different iterations of the WS-10B engines used on the J-16

The first one is tail number 61248
And the later one is 70290

Spoiler

Which one is the newer one?

and there are rumours about nozzle change means different version of WS-10B. later version is said to has about 15KN thrust

I see, thank you

If this holds true, the thrust-to-weight ratio of the J-11BG (Block 07 & 08) would be truly impressive.
150,000/9.8*2/16,580=1.846

my bad, 15+KN is WS-10C’s estimated thrust, WS-10B-2 is estimated to be 14KN+
few sources mentioned newest WS-10B-3 also has 15KN+ but I doubt the source.

Been doing some reading and just looking at the WS-10B series.
From what I’ve gathered the current J-16 engine is called the WS-10B-3?

not confirmed, but at least there is a unofficially later version of B-2

This one is commonly called the B-3 online but obviously there’s no official designation available

15kN=1530kgf lol
WS-10B on J-10CE has 144kN, about 14694kgf.
