And then there’s J-15S shares more commonality with the J-11BS
(Sorry didn’t mean to reply to you)
I was talking about the DT, not D.
Maybe because there are only two pictures of it so far.
However, here the newest (and clearest); also note the sharkfins now share same color with the vertical stabs.

Hm, hard to tell.

The image you linked as a DT seems to be the same aircraft as the one in linked, both are marked “93”

The only difference is can see is that the 15D uses the newer Aurora 2 HUD
That picture was only related to the Wing tip Jammers…
This is J-15DT:
Ahh ok. i misunderstood
But as you said there’s very few pictures of the supposed 15DT
But the only discernable thing i can see is just a different paint job. or am I missing something?
After a quick giggle the difference seems to be its CATOBAR capable, compared to the old STOBAR ones
Here’s an explanation courtesy of someone on reddit
"T = Tánshè (catapult, or CATOBAR)
D = Diànzǐ (electronic)
H = ramp / ski jump (I doubt “huáxuě” though). The confusing part is that this is a different “H” to ‘hai’ / ‘haijun’ (sea / naval) - but at least all PLANAF land based aircraft have transferred to PLAAF (except for MPAs and AEW&Cs like KJ-500H)."
This 405 this is just getting worse now…
I mean this, maybe I used wrong terms, “early blocks” maybe better
could be a modification of the 16D’s jammers to hold up better against conditions on and around an aircraft carrier
or different requirements for the PLAN
antenna layout different, should be a different design based on different requirement
The new premium Swiss hornet and f2 are both fake variants with no arh missiles so there’s actually a pretty decent chance we get one with pl11’s as a premium when the tech tree one is added.
J-15、J-15S、J-15D(H)、J-15T、J-15D(T)、J-15S(T)(maybe?)
Interestingly, the J-15S series has never been officially announced, despite its photos being widely circulated.

Id say it’s probably a modification to handle naval operations better. here’s a J-15DT with the same jammer as a J-16D
Integration for the sake of interoperability maybe, makes sense since naval aircraft don’t always operate out of carriers and realistically they could be on the same airbase as their land based counterparts
What would be the difference in land vs sea operations in terms of a jammers role?
Would they not have the same role either way?
I’m not that well versed in EW stuff
Thats a render (and a J-15D).
I mean that the 2 jammers could made to different requirements (in performance and durability) and it’s beneficial for the smaller naval fighter fleet to be able to use the much larger inventory of the air force
CATOBAR landing gear would suggest a DT but image is too low res I can’t really tell if it’s a render or not
You can already tell by the propotions and J-16D wing tip Jammers, that this is not a real image.
The J-15DT would have the typical J-15D wing tip Jammers, CATOBAR gear and all white / light gray radar cone and shark tails.
The only giveaway I can find is it seems to be missing the little find behind the canopy.
But you’re probably right either way
I can promise you it’s a render. The “八一” insignias are not red and yellow on the J-15T/D.
