Shenyang J-11, J-16, J-15, History, Performance & Discussion

The only giveaway I can find is it seems to be missing the little find behind the canopy.
But you’re probably right either way

I can promise you it’s a render. The “八一” insignias are not red and yellow on the J-15T/D.

Ahh ok.

Is there any images of a J-15D with the countermeasures visible? I haven’t found any pictures in my brief search

PLA is opening Shandong carrier and strike group for visitors on HKG for a week. Hopefully someone have the tickets and can share some pics of the J-15 (if allowed of course)

Edit: J-15T, one of the best flankers.

The J-15T is such a wonderful looking aircraft. I just wish it had more than 48 countermeasures for war thunder reasons ngl

Can it carry pl-15/pl-12 on its second outermost pylon or is it limited to ir like su33, su35 in pic but this is the pylon im talking about

isn’t a pic just two post above showing pl15? on that pylon.

pretty sure thats the 4/5 pylon, not sure if it’s the 6/7 pylon. Would need a pic from the front/bottom to confirm. From the side it’s hard to tell exactly which pylon is which

Haven’t seen any Chinese Flanker with BVRs on that pylons, max PL-15 would remain eight, unless they also start to add the dual pylon on their Flankers, but thats not very likely atm.

No, the picture however shows PL-12s.

Isn’t j-16 able to use bvr missiles on those pylons?

looks like a bvr missile on there

Thats clearly a PL-10

oh yeah you’re right, no middle fins. are the pl-12s/pl-15s just too heavy for that pylon? ik the r77 is lighter than the pl-12, but the r-77-1 seem to be basically the same weight

yea my bad.

j16 is able to use bvr missile on those pylons

as seen here its very capable

He is talking about the most outer underwing pylon, on this picture its also equipped with just PL-10.

ah, sorry i though he was talking abt the second most inner pylon

So, j-16 loadout for radar missiles is basically the su-35 er loadout? Kind of disappointing, the fact that a fighter thats like double the weight of j-10c while having the same radar missile loadout as it is dumb. IMO that means j-16 will be kinda doa for air to air, why fly it over j-10c? J-10c will have much superior aerodynamics and kinematics. Only positive for j-16 is air to ground load out and its cm count
