How good is J-11B as a 13.7? And would it be worth it to go for it over the J-10?
It’s good at 13.7, better than J-10A at BVR because of its acceleration at high altitude and better radar. Though the radar modes at the moment are placeholder.

Thanks to other peoples support, I’ve identified that the Su-35 that China has is technically a Su-35S, however it’s just named Su-35 Flanker-M. I assume articles and whatnot just put the S to it as it can be easily mistaken due to the 35S also having the same designation. However the Chinese Su-35 Flanker-M and Su-35S do have some very small differences, mainly from what I’ve seen, the antenna for navigation is missing (which can be seen on the tail above the horizontal stab)
Tldr: The Chinese Su-35 is pretty much an S variant, but its just not called like that, yet keeps the Flanker-M designation. Why? Idk

And Su-35S is pretty much Su-35 as well Su-30SME is pretty much Su-30SM, what’s point? Just overall same planes, one of which uses same stuff but “export” with possible downgrades.
I just wanted to throw that out there, nothing more, nothing less.
Only 60km radar range because they somehow got the bright idea to ship this update with literally unfinished slop, but sure otherwise it stomps all over basically every other 13.7

Did pl-8b get upgraded boosters? I don’t feel there is much difference between pl-8 and pl-8b.

If that was the upgrade, why did they not give it to J-10A when it was out? I know they don’t care about China, but this is so lazy.

No booster upgrade, but it gets a 3 degree fov seeker, which is the second narrowest among top tier IRCCM missiles and only behind the magic 2, so on that front it is very much superior to most missiles for pre-flare resistance
In game it is limited to 3.5 mach.
Chinese Use IRBIS-E a export variant of IRBIS. on SU-35s Main difference betwen both its that IRBIS-E work with less KW. I don’t remember how much was the Diff. But something in the line of 10kw for IRBIS-E and 20kw for IRBIS.
I don’t think PLA using NATO names…
AFAIK they just use Su-35
Radar tracking range of the 1493 is limited to only 60km rn…
I don’t think that’s correct but unfortunately not much sources available to dispute it.
