RN, quite nice, but with this, I have to say the radar lets it down RN. I think it will be similar. Actually the KH29s and Guided bombs make it better at CAS than Su27SM.
IDK which pylons can carry them though, cause I would still take KH29 over it if it is faster. IF they are on GB500 pylons though… that is a different matter, every day of the week.
The radar is still unfixed and the bug reports seem to be lacking info. Is there any primary sources on the radar? How did they find information on the type 1473?
from memory the C-704s are around 400 kg, so it remains possible to have them on the PL8 pylons but it would be necessary to find sources that the J11B uses them well, the J10A/B/C pulls it and now the J11B has KH29 so I don’t see the problem for it to be able to pull C-704.
the C-704 is subsonic mach 0.9 at the maximum but has a more evolved seeker than the KH29TE

fired a C-704KD GPS to hit a stationary pantsir behind a mountain and a significant advantage to the detriment of speed
For 1473 it is essentially a copy-paste MiG-29SMT Zhuk with slightly shorter range ingame.
For 1493 I would imagine it would at least not be worse than the preceding 1492, or else it would be ridiculous.
among all the sources that I put find the 1493 and a range of about 150 km but no real change with the 1492 of the J8F, just an enlarged range
There is one change though that can be somewhat confirmed, the transmitter outputs much more power (300W on 1492 compared to 1000W for 1493).
yes of course, I’m afraid that gaijin will do anything given all the refused bug reports :(

I just think that Gaijin hasn’t gone to the level where they would make the successor radar worse than the predecessor, so I think it will be fine when it arrives to live server.
I just hope that the scanning speed will be a little bit faster. I want a quick walk through the sector.
I expect the 1493 radar to behave like a 1473 but with 150 km, range and in 60°x10° and 6DL
If that’s the case that is already alright for me, actual characteristics are of course classified and there are little official sources, it is probably the closest representation possible.
normally yes the 1473 and 1493 are radars of the same generation as the 1493 and released later
There are multiple radar models between the Type 1473 and 1493 – they’re not parallel developments of the same generation.
btw I have no clue what happened to the Type 1472 – it was probably phased out during development and replaced by the 1473.

don’t you have any references to support. i tried to search for the official articles, reports or documents about type 1493 radar’s performance before but failed.
Well, I’ll tell you why I think so.
- In terms of weapons, I am referring specifically to air-to-air missiles. The R-37M is a very good missile, and its performance is about the same as that of the PL-17. The R-77M can also be said to be sufficient for the requirements of Russia. But when will the fourth-generation IR missiles in Russia go from drawings to reality?
- Given Russia’s tradition of promoting military power, if they really used sufficiently advanced composite materials for the Su-35 (or other aircraft), then I would have known about it in various propaganda news. And in China, the production line of the J-15T openly uses composite materials, and the J-16 is still being kept secret, but it is clear that the technology used by the J-15T does not make sense that it will not be used on the J-16.
- The argument over radar systems is the least necessary. Most U.S. fighter jets still use GaAs AESA radar, but GaN AESA is already widely used in China (from the most advanced fighter jets to the most common trainer aircraft equipped with AESA). Why is the Su-35 still in service with PESA? As far as I know, only the Su-57 uses AESA, why hasn’t Russia replaced AESA for their fighters yet? Don’t you want to do that?
All data on the J-16 comes only from PLAAF propaganda, because this is highly classified equipment. So there’s no way I’m going to come up with authoritative enough data — I don’t want to go to jail yet. In other words, you can question as much as you like.
