@Smin1080p Sorry to ping. But is it a bug? It should be “large caliber countermeasures” like other Su-27.
Probably a bug, there’s already a bug report for that.
This is partly due to there not being any document on J11A MLU, many bug reports have been closed since there is a lack of official acknowledge on there really is J11A MLU and not just J11A. We can see there are differences like
the MAWS are only on some J11A, but that is not confirmed.

This could show a J11 carrying two R77, but we can not distinguish the plane from below.
Which keeps on begging the question of why not a J11B, and if they didn’t feel like giving a flanker that was so advanced then go for a J10A.
Hmmm… How can they close bug reports because the aircraft type has not been officially determined?
Nothing found on the dev server (unless advertised in devblog) is official & is not guaranteed to come to the game at all.
That means any bug report on the Sea Harrier FA.2 F-15C’s, Aim-120A, Aim-120B, MICAs, Derby, AAM-4 & should be closed as well without proper review.
That is not happening for those models to my knowledge. I believe it is a mistake to close any reports based on that.
J11A cockpit ??, we can clearly see in this photo that there is a new multifunction screen
No as in we can’t confirm irl there is such a thing as J11A MLU, and not just J11A, since they are the only J11As left in service. The point is that MLU will have ground loadouts to match or at least brings CAS capabilities. The current dev j11A is the supposed MLU version with extra MAWs, but we were unable to prove that there really was a thing called MLU, and therefore the report was labelled not a bug.
First one don’t think so since everything is in Russian and J11As all have completely made in China stuff. Although it’s possible to be one of the earlier Su-27SK-PB38/PB39 which have been updated to the MLU standard? The second one could be since it is a J11A next to it.
My guess is that there need to be an overhaul of the current tech tree for J-10 and it will probably be very difficult for China to have another new WWII line to stretch into J-10, but its possible to simply move the Q5/JH7As into bomber line like Russian tech tree. And then J-10 to fit in with Il-10 line, but its difficult still to fill the line unless we have another level 5/6 vacancy like RC line in level 4.
Simply divide the lines at the end? they’ve never done it but it could be an option wouldn’t it?
Honestly this seems pretty straightforward to me, you’ll have a line for Chengdu (j-10A/B/C etc…) a line for Shenyang (all Sino-Flankers) and the Taiwanese line on the far left side plus a line for attackers and a line for the eventual (kind of what if) addition of modern strategic bombers such as the H-6 and its variants.
(excuse my poor artistic skills but this is what i can offer you with a mouse)
😍😍😍
That would be horrific, a SU-27SM counterpart with the SPO-15LM is not a thing I’d like to see. Why did Gaijin even bother with the J-11A when they could’ve just added the near complete domestic J-11B instead.
Unless 4 is meant to be the KJ8602A RWR
That’s Belarusian mod cockpit.
Interesting, however they still should not label it not a bug. It is a bad judgment call imo.
Reason being is that if the variants are truly this undefined as they proclaim, then that means this J-11A is entitled to all the modifications of the J-11A that are in service.
I am invested in the Chinese tree as my second main nation in aviation besides the Soviet Union. But I am not privy to the details as you guys are. I am rooting for ya’ll & I hope you get everything desired and more.
I will be really bummed if we do not at least get PL-12…
I mean i agree that finding info on the J11A seems to be a little bit confusing and might be a real struggle in terms of factual things. Still i think Gaijin knows how many possibilities the Chinese tech tree has since both Air, Ground and naval (once and if they get to modern ships) thrive in modern day equipment.
We simply will have to wait for the next few updates, I’m pretty convinced the J10A will be here by the end of the year.
More reasons as to why I would have preferred a J10, and yes it’s my favorite CN plane LOL
IMHO J-16 should be after JH-7A as end of strike / multirole aircraft line and the J-11D or J-11BG should be end of heavy figter line
I see…
This all seems a little weird, in situations like this when a variant is not as easily defined should be the exact moment GJ seizes opportunity to develop a model as unique & special as they could (within reason of course).
Because unfortunately so many vehicles are copy pasted out of necessity & as easy as that may be from a project development perspective, it’s not good for business.
I see the J-11A as perfect opportunity to not copy paste & offer users of this nation something to talk about & drive incentive to get others to invest in the tech tree.
I would assume the goal is to get everyone invested in other trees. As many as possible. It simply makes more money. Copy paste Flankers will not do this.
It did not work for F-104s, F-5, F-16 etc. Or maybe it did & I am just clueless. I did not see the sales figures for each vehicle whose research was accelerated with GE.
I still think it’s a good sign the jury is still out on the J-11A. I think something will come. Not sure what.
well kind of debatable since the J16 is one of the two reasons why the J11D never became a thing. I guess they could add the Multirole tag and put it in that line but i see it more fitting in a Shenyang line for the sake of origin, you could see it in the same way as the Mig and Sukhoi line.
I totally agree that the constant copy and paste doesn’t get better sales, but we have to consider that the game has main mechanics and nations that need to be worked on. From my knowledge every nation has a separate team so the individual progression of everyone doesn’t conflict.
Anyway we can hope to see some good stuff coming later this year, remember that most of the big hitters come with the last update of the year and Gaijin might be saving F18s and J10s for that.
