Shenyang J-11, J-16, J-15, History, Performance & Discussion

You made the claim but so far has been unsubstantiated. The person who works at sukhoi made it clear, the equivalent AL-31 model is lighter than the WS-10.

it’s a comparison sheet of different standards.

and AL-31F’s TWR in different standard

Please, link and without translation? Where is it from?

A old Chinese paper about engine TWR standard.

I will read this when I have time

It’s a old paper before Chinese standard of engine weight was set. the final standard could be different, it’s better to find original file, but I can only find Chinese one
HB 7497-1997 航空涡轮发动机重量的确定 - 道客巴巴
in Chinese standard, WS-10A weight is almost same as AL-31F.

How they can change name… when this name only for NATO? Or do they need to apply to the NATO office for a name change?

Well considering NATO kept the same designation, then it means the Chinese aircraft are, well, nearly the same airframe.

The new update trophy is here … and the J-11B gets almost the exact same skin the J-11A already has ;-;

I mean, to be fair, does PLAAF even employ a great variety in their camos to begin with?

no, that’s why you can easily identify a Chinese Flanker by its camos.

But even here it literally only 4 variants (+ raddome): Full Gray, Full Black, Full White and Light Gray + Deep gray. It all just shades of gray… except 30MK2

grey is beautiful.
but yes, that’s why I always need this sheet to identify them, it’s quite hard to remember all these grey

Super disappointed, first the J11 had a Su35S camo, cool! But then they give the same camo to the j10?? Then The J11A comes, cool a J16 camo!!! J11B, same thing?? Like frankly there’s other cool camos for these planes on WT live with markings and details but no, just have Su35S and J16 skins from now on.

Chinese-made aircraft are copied from the Su-27 and its modifications, so these discussions are appropriate here.

Could we please stop throwing unnecessary insults and maintain a respectful discussion?

The thread IS about Chinese flankers, since the aircrafts are similar it is allowed to mention the other part of the flanker family but if the discussion dives too deep into the Russian side it can be moved to the other thread.

Please keep this thread clean.
