Server Update 15.07.2024

Ground Vehicles

  • ZTZ99A — the colors of the digital camouflage have been corrected.
  • ASRAD-R — elevation angles and guidance speed have been corrected. New elevation angles are -10 / +70 degrees, turret traverse speed is now set to 100 deg/sec, gun elevation speed is now set to 40 deg/sec. The parameters have been set similarly to the Ozelot, as the ASRAD-R uses the same components with the change of BOLIDE missiles instead of Stinger missiles.

Other

  • New Gaijin.net and Steam achievements have been added for BeNeLux vehicles.

Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service, forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.

If it’s a server update, that implies a client update is not needed? Because traverse is currently 70 degress, not 100 as stated in the patch.

Absolute HUGE win! ASRAD-R* — elevation angles and guidance speed have been corrected. Thank you gaijin! Amazing change for ground players, spaa’s actually being able to look up is a fundamental necessity for them to do their job! Roland next please… It was acknowledged months ago.

Now rolands are even more pathetic. Asrad was inferior to roland in only one thing and now that’s gone. Asrad should be higher than flarakpz, xm975 and 2s6 should higher than asrad.

BR increase?

They could at least give the Ozelot Mistrals, the Roland is just useless

But, great news for Swedish tech tree!

Two more missiles. (25% more)
16 km search radar range compared to 12.
16 km tracking radar range compared to 10.
6.81 kg of tnt equivalent compared to 1.44.
6 meters of prozimity fuze range compared to 3.
80 degree of gun elevation compared to 70.

so when in the week are we getting the decompression anyways?

The only really relevant point here is the explosive mass and in some situations the elevation.
BOLIDE is faster with 5G more so it’s much more manouverable than the ROLAND 3.

It’s unfair that flarakpz, xm975 have the same br as asrad after its elevation buff. Do you disagree with that?

It’s very important when planes at worst will be 8km away from you) The tnt comparison is even funnier. Asrad have ± fine missile, roland have almost useless missile.

Yeh i do disagree that it should go up, the roland should be buff’d instead, how about instead of nerfing everything that’s good why do we bring everything else up to a similar level in the same BR bracket. The roland has an acknowledge bug report on its elevation being incorrect and should be able to look higher, that only leaves it missile handling which definitely needs changing!.

Aren’t heavier missiles gonna slow down the turn rate??

Not necessarily, without getting into the scientific side of things the weight is only one factor, thrust vectoring engines can be a factor along with the size of the ailerons, how much the ailerons can turn at any given time, how much surface area they have in general…many more factors come into account. You could have a very lightweight missile without a thrust vectoring engine and tiny ailerons meaning it’s extremely fast in a straight line but turns poorly vs a big heavy missile which has a thrust vectoring engine, large ailerons to help with it’s turn rate and overall it’ll pull a much tighter turn to intercept a target but could potentially need a longer distance to reach the same maximum speed.

Finally, thanks.

It’s about turret and gun, not about missiles…
