I do find it funny they say it’s mean to phase out all other shells, although in reality it’s probably decent against light tanks, anything heavier is never going to work.
It means things like Canister(M1028), HE-OR-T (M908) / HE-MP-T(M830A1), etc. as they can effectively be replaced by the smart fusing capability & directional warhead as detailed in the video.
So you would be down to M1147 & M829A4.
You do get that most of the time a tank doesn’t actually shoot at anything with armor, which is why replacing all of the above shells is such a big deal.
And USA is developing this finally.
Well if it was purely Anti-Armor CE Ammo the US was looking for, 120mm XM943 STAFF already existed and had for a while at this point, as for why it hasn’t implemented it’s basically a gun launched, pre-nerf TOW-2B.
What really delayed them was the lack of an Ammo datalink and survivable radio fuse at that scale, as Gun launch is a little more violent that aircraft carriage.

I always find this funny, an F-15E with (28x)GBU-53 / AGM-187A, or (9x) CBU-105 / JSOW, for example would absolutely flatten maps in short order.

Its one of the funnest ground trees ive had the fortune to play.
Though 9.0 its.not got much in the way of cas
Brimstone alone is enough wrack the entire ground force combination of amount it can carry by Tornado GR4 and EFT
And it’s only going to escalate from here, considering just how rapidly ordnance and aircraft seem to be progressing.
Cluster-bombs & Dispensers are going to be wild, especially the BL775 & Rockeye / CBU-100 combination since basically all of the NATO airframes get access to them in significant quantities.
And that’s okay. Neither does 12.0, compared to other nations. JH-7A is okay, but you’re not an SU-34. The difference is - at 9.0, you easily create the no-fly-zones with the HE-VT WZ305 and the AMEAD rounds of the PGZ09, without having to worry about some guided munition coming at you from ages away. The tree is still growing, though, so we should get some more help in the CAS department in the future.
The J10 aint too bad from what ive seen, I still use the Q5 and J8B at top tier rn xd still grinding out the J7
but yeah 9.0 is a pretty fun lineup for me but i dont really use the Wz305 when i should.
once i get the VT4A1 unlocked im going to drop back down to 9.0 to get the AFT and such unlocked.
Have had it unlocked since days after it was added - have refused to purchase it.
Has an APS system of limited utility (it’ll stop some missile slingers, but they’re pretty rare at top-tier and are often on your own team), while lacking the reverse speed of the ZTZ-99A and WZ1001. Have always found it a little insulting that they’ve slotted it in front of the WZ1001.
You know i assumed it was just the same 34kmph did not realise it was only 17kmph reverse.

Nah, you’re not any more survivable. I say the WZ1001 has the better APS - the ability to reverse like an absolute mad man. One of the reasons people prefer using the T-80BVM over the T-90M in this game. However, I refused to buy the VT, so if any VT enjoyers want to speak up, I’m all ears. Judging by how few you see at top-tier, I think it has relegated to a back-up vehicle behind the WZ and VT. All three vehicles are still waiting for numerous additions and fixes that will bring them up to par, though. Shout out to the China enjoyers who have tirelessly logged bug reports time and time again. Now for Gaijin to act.

yeah cause T90M is a -4 reverse and bvm is -11 is it not?
Vt4A1 has -17 which is half the -34 of the wz but still good enough i suppose.
NGL ive noticed the wz1001 is a struggle at 12.0 compared to other trees ive used at top tier.
like the round feels so useless, the 7.1 second incorrect reload and even the armour is struggling comapred to say the ZTZ99s at 11.0

Regardless yeah the reload and depression of the wz1001 is doing my head in. dunno why i can do good with the 11.0s but not the 12.0
