Hello dear War Thunder developers and fellow players.
While playing at Battle Rating 6.7, I have consistently encountered a frustrating situation. Roughly every third battle, I end up at the very bottom of the matchmaker, fighting against vehicles with BR 7.7. This is something that worries not only me, but also my friends.
I am confident that many players who regularly play at BR 6.7 face the same issue — constantly being uptiered and forced to fight vehicles that are clearly superior. I would like to ask the developers to address this problem.
My suggestion is fairly simple: increase the Battle Rating of all vehicles at BR 7.7 and above by one full BR step. This would move top-tier vehicles to 13.7 and Rank V vehicles to 8.7. Such a change would not break balance — global BR increases have already happened multiple times in War Thunder’s history. This solution would allow BR 6.7 vehicles to remain at their intended rating, while BR 7.7 vehicles would move to 8.7, reducing the extreme uptiers.
As an alternative solution, the game’s matchmaking could simply prevent Rank V vehicles from fighting against Rank IV vehicles altogether.
As an example, I would like to compare French BR 7.7 vehicles with German BR 6.7 vehicles. German 6.7 lineups are among the strongest at their BR. Let’s take the Tiger II and the Somua SM as an example.
The Somua SM has significantly higher armor penetration and nearly twice the reload speed. Its maximum speed is also about 15 km/h higher, and its upper frontal plate has better effective armor (around 337 mm compared to the Tiger II’s ~301 mm). On top of that, the Somua SM has fewer weak spots — its turret front provides between 200 and 320 mm of armor, while the Tiger II’s turret front offers only around 180 mm.
Despite this, these two vehicles frequently face each other in battle, and the outcome is clearly unbalanced. The same situation applies to many other vehicles as well.
For these reasons, I respectfully ask the developers to move BR 7.7 and higher vehicles to higher Battle Ratings, while keeping everything below 7.7 unchanged.
