I would like to suggest this unique late war field modified Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf. D which was modified to have a unique twin 12 cm Granatwerfer 42. Its story is pretty much unknown, except that it was made in late 1944/1945 and then captured by the yugoslavian partisans.
It is a Sd.Kfz.251 where the side walls were cut out a bit to allow 2 side by side mounted 12 cm Grw 42 to rotate 360° on a plattform. It is further equipped with 2x Mg 34 at the front and a Mg 42 or Mg 34 at the back in the AA AG mount.
A Mortar, a weapon type not yet in game.
In game it would offer a new mobile and nible playstyle that would be similar to high caliber derp guns with He, tho depending on the Morter caliber less He but higher firerate. That would be usable in short to long range, but weaker in close combat. With multiple vehicles or even alone it could stop an enemy attack, close down a position or help your advance with smoke as well as annoy enemy tanks by obstructing them with smoke from a safe position.I suggest that it should be aimable in 2 ways. Like Artillery when pressing middle Maus and having a visible circle on the ground that is movable by Maus, however restricted by the actual available Traverse range. And on the minimap a red dot (not a big map in the middle of the screen) that would show the impact range that would move along how you move your maus in a similar controll like in Enlisted as well as impact marks on the map as in Enlisted.
In game this unique variant could be an event or premium version next to the Sd.Kfz.251/2 (with the 8 cm Grw. 34) and the Mörserwagen 38(t) with one 12 cm Grw. 42. It would offer high firepower with high fire rate (2x barrles) with mobility and range.
History of the Sd.Kfz.251:
The AHA IN6 (Inspectorate of Motorized Troops) requested a armored Half track to accompany tanks on the offensive and perform auxiliary mission in 1939. These tasks were (not limited to) Scouting, mobile HQ, command vehicle, radio vehicle, forward observer and ammo carrier. And be a bigger version to the then also in development Sd.Kfz.250, its smaller brother.
It was an development of the Sd.Kfz.11, which was made by Demag, who was allready recognized for their expertise in very small and fast half tracks, which was recently accepted into service. Of these Sd.Kfz.11 were around 12.000 produced until 1945 and additional 15.252 of the armored version Sd.Kfz.251. The armored body was designed and produced by Büssig-NAG abd called Mittlerer gepanzerter Mannschafts Transportwagen (medium armored troop transporter) with the number Sd.Kfz.251.
The Gun: 12 cm Grw. 42 (pretty much a copy of the russian 12 cm Mortar.
45° to +84° elevation, 360° travers (as they are mounted on a traverse platform)
Firein mainly 2 rounds, (and optionally russian captured) at 8-10 rpm (2x)
The 12 cm Wgr.42 Ausf. E at 280m/s up to 6km 15,6kg with around over 2,2-2,5kg Fp.02 and Np.10 filler (2,816 to 3,2 kg TnTa) as well as the same with a smoke filler.(Click to show)
