Per the title, the Sd.Kfz. 234 variants (primarily the /2) ruin the 1_1 bracket. Hop into any match and it feels like half the Axis team is running them. The only bracket for reserve tanks and some pre-war behemoths to shine is wrecked by a Puma being set up on a flank before the other team is half way to the cap.
Allies have almost-comparable vehicles in the SARC mkVI and M8 LAC, but don’t seem to be abused to anywhere near the same extent. Worse mobility and no second driver to help with mistakes maybe?
The 234/1 will do fine if added to 2_1, considering the Sd.Kfz. 222 has the same armament with worse mobility.
234/2 should be added to 3_1, it’s the worst offender and they’ll have a blast having flank wars with Hellcats like the good old days.
234/3 should also be added to 3_1, it is less capable but you still have short 75mm Pz. IIIs running about. More options are always good, and I’m certainly not advocating for it to be removed from 2_1.
Any support towards getting the 1_1 lineup changed in the next round of BR/matchmaker changes would be appreciated ❤
Do you have any arguments for why the 234s should be left to ruin an entire SBGF bracket? Please reference your single 2_1 SBGF game that you’ve played with Italy in your reasoning.
1943 armoured cars fighting 1939 tanks? Naaah no problem here move along you’re just terrible at the game.
In all seriousness they have no right to be in that line up. They have a high penetrating gun, excellent mobility and a bouncy UFP especially considering the early war/pre war tanks they’re facing for whatever reason.
The PzIV(H) really needs removing from the 1.7-2.7 line up as well as it’s completely broken with 95mm of armour un-angled mated to a reasonably agile platform with a gun that can penetrate up to 140mm of armour with OPHE. It one-click deletes everything it faces including the slow, cumbersome two-spawn heavies… it doesn’t even belong here it’s a 3.7 for crying out loud with almost zero tanks that can compete with it. The kill feeds are non-stop “PzIV(H) killed…”
I also noticed that in the 4.0-5.0 battles Germany gets the Tiger II and Ferdinand… both 6.7 tanks. Yet Britain isn’t allowed the Tortoise at 6.3 despite the fact it’s worse in almost every regard. No doubt making a Tortoise fight a Panther A and Tiger I would be “unfair”. Sherman Fireflies fighting Ferdinand’s is fine though.
Sorry, I know all of this is a highly unpopular opinion but if you somehow believe that Germany suffers in WW2 tiers you’re either completely blind, a wehraboo or even worse at tanks than me.
I whole heartedly agree to this. The 234 series are the best of the ww2 armored cars. The 234/2 is more equivalent to the SARC mkIV (6pdr) than any of the other armored cars. The only advantage the 57mm SARC has over the 234/2 is the comander .50 cal.
So why is the puma still allowed in the reserve bracket in ground SIM? It went up in RB so move it up in SIM please.
