Scout Drone for 8.0 Light Tanks

Currently, exclusively light tanks at rank VI and higher have access to a scout drone. I would propose a rework with a feature similar to the mechanic where the nuke starts to be accessible at a certain BR: exclusively in 8.3 and above matches, 8.0 tanks can also use a scout drone. Also, in matches lower than 8.3, i,e 7.3-8.3 game, scout drones cannot be used. Also, an SP system for drones should be implemented. My proposal would be to drain 20-30sp for every minute used. This would stop people from doing this:

This proposal would help nations with a BR gap of light tanks that have a scout drone and would prevent players from excessively using the drone to gain SP and spawn CAS. What are your thoughts?

I don’t think that’s technically how scout drones are distributed right now. The rule is actually for light tanks of Rank VI and above, not by BR. It just so happens that the vast majority of light tanks of Rank VI are at least 8.3. The single exception is the Chinese M41D, which is at 8.0 but gets a scout drone.

Oh, I never knew that, so it’s based off of rank rather than BR? Changed it now.

M551 had it before its rank changed, well and after for a bit due to a bug

Well, I would disagree, but with a nuance. I would give more importance to reconnaissance vehicles, making them more specialized by increasing the Battle Rating (BR) of vehicles that were originally designed for reconnaissance and granting more credits and XP for detecting enemies, and even more for each enemy detected and destroyed. Light tanks with reconnaissance but certain combat capabilities would retain their current reconnaissance bonuses. Finally, I would remove the drone from all light vehicles except those with the highest BR, making drones function exactly the same as binoculars for detecting enemies. I would then increase the BR of these vehicles so they could serve as the reconnaissance and combat vehicles for top-tier vehicles, thus preventing the top tier from being solely battlegrounds between MTBs.

So basically separate the scouting system more, by adding stuff like M113’s and such specifically for scouting? Thing is, nobody would play a vehicle that is used exclusively for scouting when they can just kill the target that they see in a tank.

No, I’m referring to reconnaissance vehicles with combat capabilities. An M113 with a 12.7mm gun wouldn’t be a reconnaissance vehicle, but this vehicle could be.
M114A2.

The main thing is to add vehicles with certain capabilities against other vehicles, but which focus more on reconnaissance, allowing them to earn more credits and XP for it. That’s why I suggested increasing the Battle Rating (BR) of certain light vehicles, such as the SdKfz 222 and 234/2, or the M8 Greyhound, which, although they wouldn’t have an advantage frontally against the T-34, Sherman, or Pz4H, would have a chance from the side and could engage other light vehicles.

You can’t know without testing. Anyway, based on what you’re saying, more than half of the tanks in the game would be redundant, because why would players use less competent tanks when they can play with the tank that works best?

Light tanks have the luxury of being able to be played passively and having the option to engage tanks with their main gun. If your talking about scout vehicles like the M114A2, they don’t have the option of engaging tanks aggressively and have little means of defense if they are spotted. If this is what was intended, at least give them a vastly larger XP yield from scouting from that of light tanks with an effective main armament.

Scout drones start way too early, should start closer to 10.7
