unfortunately gaijin hasnt done anything to fix it even tho they claim they are wich its rather obvious by the fact that some members of the community have made up their own solutions to the problem by increasing the detection range of the aps, it is a really bad problem that gaijin refuses to fix because of their lack of initative
Not like the APS would do anything; IRCCM is too common at 10.3 and 11.0 for it to ever matter.
im pushing a fix cuz we know thanks to hensoldt that MUSS 2.0 its capable of jamming fire and forget and beam riding thanks to their newer info
They won’t, they said they were going to fix the MK30-2/ABM from overheating last major update and nothing was fixed. If anything they can in-fact nerf the PUMA’s fire rate if they wanted to because Sabot is locked to only being fired in single-shot mode and automatic mode. Rapid single doesn’t work for sabot and automatic mode has been denied. Only nerfs for Germany you see… )))))))
Edit : Oh also remember when I brought up the ZBG picture having a third firing mode on the PUMA? Yeah KNDS scrubbed the cleanest picture related to it… Even as far as removing it from google search… Curious…

automatic mode means 200 RPM automatic fire not the 600 RPM the gun is capable of doing in bursts of 3, its a missinterpretation as per overheating, that still requires fixes and gaijin has refused to do anything about the PUMA so far
Rheinmetall has clearly stated Single shot, Rapid Single and Fully automatic as mode.
-
Test fires shows Single shot requires the gunner to depress the trigger to fire each time.
-
Rapid single upon pressing the trigger will fire five shots, intervals of all exercises shown it has a interval of 1.5 seconds, meaning it can achieve the full rate of fire in a minute from effectively 40 seconds of fire resulting in 200 rpm. Look at videos carefully, especially demonstration of Bundeswehr using several types of ammunition and pauses between each five round salvo are very precisely even per shot with the interval, after five rounds are fired.
Automatic mode does not make sense in a sense of 200 rpm, if we consider the interval of the cannon taking 1.5 second pauses from my understanding to re-establish aim and cool down the barrel automatic mode could potentially be what it means of their mention of “burst-fire” of 15 rounds. Mathematically it would make sense as it would ‘achieve’ 600 rpm, I can’t quite say for certain on an exact cooling period since I cannot find references of burst-fire, but say 5~ seconds in this case to assume.
If you think more critically, naval mounted mk30-2’s have an achievable fire rate of 800 or more, if there was no pause in this 15 round burst you get a damning close number to the full fire rate of the cannon.
This is why I think there is a fully automatic mode (Burst Fire), people have this misconception that it should “fire” automatically but that is just how it is worded to clarify.
We still haven’t seen any visual evidence for this full automatic firing mode on the Puma or any test firing showing full 600 RPM. The gun and mechanism might be capable of doing 600 RPM but it is limited by the FCS computer, sadly.
