unfortunately gaijin hasnt done anything to fix it even tho they claim they are wich its rather obvious by the fact that some members of the community have made up their own solutions to the problem by increasing the detection range of the aps, it is a really bad problem that gaijin refuses to fix because of their lack of initative
Not like the APS would do anything; IRCCM is too common at 10.3 and 11.0 for it to ever matter.
im pushing a fix cuz we know thanks to hensoldt that MUSS 2.0 its capable of jamming fire and forget and beam riding thanks to their newer info
They won’t, they said they were going to fix the MK30-2/ABM from overheating last major update and nothing was fixed. If anything they can in-fact nerf the PUMA’s fire rate if they wanted to because Sabot is locked to only being fired in single-shot mode and automatic mode. Rapid single doesn’t work for sabot and automatic mode has been denied. Only nerfs for Germany you see… )))))))
Edit : Oh also remember when I brought up the ZBG picture having a third firing mode on the PUMA? Yeah KNDS scrubbed the cleanest picture related to it… Even as far as removing it from google search… Curious…

automatic mode means 200 RPM automatic fire not the 600 RPM the gun is capable of doing in bursts of 3, its a missinterpretation as per overheating, that still requires fixes and gaijin has refused to do anything about the PUMA so far
Rheinmetall has clearly stated Single shot, Rapid Single and Fully automatic as mode.
-
Test fires shows Single shot requires the gunner to depress the trigger to fire each time.
-
Rapid single upon pressing the trigger will fire five shots, intervals of all exercises shown it has a interval of 1.5 seconds, meaning it can achieve the full rate of fire in a minute from effectively 40 seconds of fire resulting in 200 rpm. Look at videos carefully, especially demonstration of Bundeswehr using several types of ammunition and pauses between each five round salvo are very precisely even per shot with the interval, after five rounds are fired.
Automatic mode does not make sense in a sense of 200 rpm, if we consider the interval of the cannon taking 1.5 second pauses from my understanding to re-establish aim and cool down the barrel automatic mode could potentially be what it means of their mention of “burst-fire” of 15 rounds. Mathematically it would make sense as it would ‘achieve’ 600 rpm, I can’t quite say for certain on an exact cooling period since I cannot find references of burst-fire, but say 5~ seconds in this case to assume.
If you think more critically, naval mounted mk30-2’s have an achievable fire rate of 800 or more, if there was no pause in this 15 round burst you get a damning close number to the full fire rate of the cannon.
This is why I think there is a fully automatic mode (Burst Fire), people have this misconception that it should “fire” automatically but that is just how it is worded to clarify.
We still haven’t seen any visual evidence for this full automatic firing mode on the Puma or any test firing showing full 600 RPM. The gun and mechanism might be capable of doing 600 RPM but it is limited by the FCS computer, sadly.
And the BW has clearly stated via Email response, that the Puma in BW Service have only the 200RPM mode
im not trying to offend but i’ll be direct. Dude, you’re confusing things. The MK30-2 isn’t a machine gun that just sprays nonstop. Rheinmetall lists the modes clearly: single shot (pull trigger each time), rapid single/controlled fire (200 rpm effective, usually in short 5-round bursts with pauses for aiming/cooling, as seen in every Bundeswehr demo video—those even intervals aren’t random), and fully automatic (which is optional burst mode up to 600 rpm cyclic, like 15 rounds quick then pause, averaging back to the 200 rpm limit for the vehicle mount).
The 200 rpm is the practical/effective rate for the Puma/Boxer/Lynx setups—it’s deliberately capped there for accuracy, barrel life, and heat. Naval versions can hit 800+ because of better cooling/stability, but that’s not this one. “Fully automatic” here means controlled bursts, not endless full-auto like you’re thinking. Watch the actual test footage; the pauses are obvious after each salvo.
You’re wrong on this one—it’s not continuous fire at 200 rpm, and there’s no magical non-stop mode hiding.
(If you want sources, check Rheinmetall’s own brochure: single fire, controlled 200 rds/min, burst 600 rds/min optional. Multiple reports confirm the Puma runs at 200 rpm effective.)

That’s quite literally what I wrote if you read my entire post. I was merely explaining my estimates on what achievable amount of round would fire off in ‘burst-fire’ mode. Burst-fire mode is the automatic third mode.
Rheinmetall lists THREE MODES.
Ammo types list; Single shot, Rapid single shot, and Automatic mode.
You quite literally just rewrote what I wrote. You need to read more carefully instead of getting so heated.
Yeah that’s the unfortunate matter. There has been no live demonstration sadly.
Because the ones specialy installed in the puma/kf41 were installed with extra breach caches to increase accuracy.
This makes the 600rpm is bot possible with the modification
Do you have more information on this? I’ve seen several pictures of the interior of the turret housing but nothing that describes it in that fashion; I’ve read that something certainly will hold the breach mechanically for a specific amount of time to achieve a lower lower fire rate, vice-versa to achieve higher.
Though it would seem infeasible to have a part that is one of a kind than one size fits all, and just lock out the mode from the panel like you’ve mentioned previously on this topic.

Is there a suggestion for the Mk 30/2 on the Pumas, KF 41 and CRV to have the optional 600 rpm super high fire rate mode? I would rather have a higher BR and low Spikes if it means I can kill Terminators and fast as they kill me
Multiple done. But they are all declined.
The weapon can have 600rpm. But thats only for maritime use.
The version on ifvs is in fact restricted to the ingame numbers and the fcs cant be overwritten.
But what if I’d install linux on fcs?
Wow, good find. Clearcut. Its 2x2 in this rack.
Wasnt me, Holy had then laying around
yeah it was something i had pointed out time ago but apparently everyone forgot about
