They don’t, actually. It seems paradoxical but for a dogwater launch of R-77-1 against a high and fast target, their higher speed is actually a detriment that hurts them by reducing your TTI.
Seriously, check it in statshark. R-77-1 from a 600kmh plane at -1.5km against one going 1200 kmh ends up seeing the missile launched from a slower platform hitting the target first.
R-77-1 also pretty regulatly beats everything but MICA in terms of TTI in general. It only loses to MICA in close range shots. It’s easily the best all-purpose ARH in the game with no weaknesses.
Once the booster is out the MICA is slowing down way faster than almost all other ARH in the game, even with +400 kmh starting speed from Rafale flight performance vs Mirage 2000 flight performance. I have experienced the missile fail to hit a fleeing F-15C from 3km in the Rafale. While AIM-120C from Typhoon managed to put a fleeing F-15E down from 7.5 km.
It’s pretty much never happened to me that an AIM-120 hit did literally nothing. But I remember multiple times, at least four or five times this past few weeks where MICA ends up hitting someone and not even making them “severely damaged”. AIM-120 might occasionally just “crit” but they rarely get off with so little damage that they can turn around and fight back, even against multipath abusers. MICA on the other hand, will fail occasionally without the complication of multipath. Multipath abuse just makes it even less likely to function.
I have them both, and disagree. It seems like a “grass is always greener on the other side” thing. There are tons of different little things that make me wish I was flying the EF2000 when flying Rafale and flying Rafale when flying EF2000. If the EF2000 continues getting fixes, it’ll pretty readily become the top bully until Gen 5 ultra-high performance US aircraft come.
Dude must only read the Russian parts of the patch notes, cause they havent nerfed a Russian missile in very long time.
2. there are functionally the same amount of aim120 variants in game as r77s since the aim120A and B are the same missile, and the c5 and c7 are also the same missile.
unlike the R77 the aim120 is the most nerfed fox3 missile in the game, being hit negatively on more patches than all the others. the C5-7 are nerfed to the degree they arnt even considered a real upgrade in game.
they gave the F16adf aim120s so they can have more 13.3 jets so it can be a real br bracket and its just made the adf harder to use, any additions to the 9-13 would just push it higher in br into even more dangerous aircraft.
No no i spade the f4f ice now and i see the aim 9l-1 which has the same seeker constantly going for flares even after 1 or 2 pops
This didnt happend before at all it was either relocks the enemy or lose track
Although the R-60MK’s are horrible.
These have been nerfed, i dont know if its historically accurate now, but they are a pain to play if you counter someone with flares…
I’ve grinded almost the all the tech tree and hand on almost of top tier vehicles, I could say the same thing. Though, a few should be added:
AIM-120A/B and AIM-120C-5 is not as good as R-77-1 in every way.
In short range, under 2.5Km AIM-120 cannot work, R-77-1 insanely pulls and accelerates.
In long range or BVR, R-77-1 beats the AIM-120C-5.
AIM-120 is prone to multi-pathing unlike R-77-1 which works super great against them. AIM-120 holders becomes passive in the match when they cannot push back the brawler which results in losing.
F-15E is just a faster F-15C turning like a brick while Su-30SM received a powerful radar that shouldn’t be equal to AESA, stays in 14.0 same as Su-30SM (before updates). It is hunted by Rafales and Typhoons (if you play them, you would know why).
F-18C has less missiles, worse missiles (as I explained above), slower, worse radar compared to Su-30SM. And it’s not even the best F-18 in the game. I mean at least the F-18C should have AESA, although I understand that Gaijin should save and milk them for the future.
Oppose to most of opinion, Su-27SM is actually a very good plane. The problems is that it requires very high skill and play it in which case it is meant to be (close range and missilessssss). You could see that people use it alot in tournaments.
Overall, data doesn’t lie, and Su-30SM get BR compression as it should be, a little bit more balanced although the Rafale and Typhoon should gets to 14.7 and get matchmaking fixed. Why most of the time, Rafale is the same with Typhoon UK tech tree while Typhoons is the most capable one that can oppose Rafale?
No, when and how were they “nerfed”, what is your “experience” that is relevant here. I’m gonna be blunt with you, they have only ever been buffed… the R73 by a lot as well… since they were added.
2- 2.5km would be IR missile launches.
3- AIM-120C-5 beats R-77-1 due to lower drag.
4- All radar missiles get multipathed.
5- What?
6- F-18C has equivalent missiles and 12 of them.
All F-18Cs are the best F-18s in the game. THe F-18C we have do not have AESA IRL.
7- Yes, Su-27SM is probably the best aircraft in USSR, as strong as F-15C in USA despite the radar scan speed.
