It maybe a bait/rage post, but I just want to say that is so pitty that GAIJIN keeps nerfing USSR and keeps buffing USA.
Since the continious nerf of missiles like R-60s, R-77s, R-77-1s and now R-73.
I’ve seen how easy is to evade a R-73 even when the missiles is tracking the butt side of the plane but AIM-9M is hard to evade even if it is looking front side and you are deploying flares like a fountain.
It is so sad that AIM-120 have 3 variants in-game but R-77 got 2 and both are nerfed.
Now you are adding AIM-120s to F-16A ADF because… no reason, but you cannot add the correct loadout for MiG-29A (9-13).
It’s simply sad what this game is doing, buffing one country but continuously nerfing another.

They can’t be nerfing anything from the URSS because the URSS doesn’t exist.
R-77s and R-73s are overpowered and the R-60 is a strong missile lmao
If they aren’t performing as well as say AIM-120s or AIM-9Ms or Magic-2’s then its because the USSR and consequently the Russian Federation hasn’t made anything good since the 60s and have always been a step or several steps behind their NATO competition.

It maybe so, but I have fresh memories when I used to play my Sukhois and perfoming crazy maneuvers with the R-73s, and it was a missiles that was hard to evade that needed too many spam of flares to dodge it, but I stopped playing USSR 'cause I wanted to grind the USA tech tree, but when this event started (F-106) I returned to play with USSR to grind points faster and now that I’m again playing with my Sukhois I feel R-73 to be clumsy and kind of useless in the situations I used to be back on the day, people evade it like my R-73 happen to be like a R-3S. I cannot find anymore joy playing the planes that I used to have joy to play with.
I do not know if they nerf USSR AGAIN, or did they buff USA a lot that bypassed the meta of USSR.

Having played with a friend who grinds USSR, while I’ve grinded USA we’ve come to an interesting conclusion: The grass is always greener on the other side. Maybe USA got 3 amraams, but two of them are identical.
There’s so many small differences between the trees you don’t think about when you grind just one of the trees. These are just some of the things to get hung up about in high tier:
- Aim-7M being ass and generally unreliable compared to the R-27ER
- Terrible RWR on some Russian planes and great ones in USA
- No R-27ET equivalent in USA
- The crazy pull and close range performance of the R-73 VS the smoklessness and difficulty to flare of the Aim-9M
- Crazy amount of missiles on some Russian planes
- Great flight performance on some USA planes
All points can be heavily debated for hours, and there’s so much more to bring up. There’s even one other thread currently talking about how the r60m is better than the aim9l. However I’d say the trees are generally well balanced, with some excellent planes in both.
Playing the game is much less rage inducing when you recognize that you got some really good stenghts in your own tree your opponents don’t have. The grass is always greener on the other side.

I base bombed to spade the Su-33 yes so my K/D in it is attrocious. I’ve nothing to hide. But the kills I have gotten, most of them are from R-73s lmao

Back on topic:
9M and R73 use different methods for rejecting flares.
Both are easy to defend if you know they are coming AND you react in time.
120A , B and C5 are mostly identical in performance

Su-33 armament even with full napalm load it still will have 2 27ER and 2 R-73 at stock.

R-77 and R-73 are not overpowered. They function as good or worse than real life.
USA indeed has superior aircraft and tanks than the Soviet tech tree.
Just how that stuff happened IRL.
The weapons of Soviets are still more than usable though, and even competitive.

R-73 has much better IRCCM for dogfighting scenarios on top of having TVC making it much better pick for close range over 9M.
9M is good only at medium range due to its IRCCM and smokeless motor.

120A and 120B are identical statwise for gameplay purposes.
120C5 should be technically better overall but in game is only better at long range, whereas sub 20km 120A/B perform better.
You are saying that like F-16ADF is staying 12.7, which isnt the case. They are also lowering its CM count down to 45x and increasing its BR to 13.3.
