Yeah Typhoon’s looks cool as hell

I think they might even be ditching the HUD to go full HMD

damn

yep

seems like a really big design mistake. I dont know anything about these but isnt it smarter to have multiple screens so when one breaks it doesnt take the whole system down

It might not be a single display, just multiple that are seamlessly next to each, but modern tech is pretty reliable and Im guessing they do still have backups somewhere in the cockpit

fair enough.

idk man what would even cause damage to a screen in a cockpit during sorties that isnt much more worrying than just a broken screen

I guess extreme weather, battle damage, etc. But yeah, probably the least of the pilots worry is the screen in front of them.

Tho imagine the psychological torture, when the plane just takes off on a long mission, and the screen gets a bad pixel. Pilot going insane with 100% probability.

@Pheonix_RX01 whats thrust to weight of 39e at empty static? gripen c for example is 1.17
image

Ive seen 1.22 but id have to double check, unfortunately im not home to check my PC

Ngl never realized the gripen c has this little thrust. makes me wonder how it has such a good sustained, for example j-10a is like 1.42 thrust to weight yet has a worse fm than grippy

Gripen C empty weight (in-game): 6750kg
Gripen C installed thrust with 2.2% loss (in-game): 8030kg
TWR: 1.19

Gripen E empty weight: 8,000kg (speculation)
Gripen E installed thrust (assuming 2.2% loss): 9,759
TWR: 1.22
